Victoria Beckham attended the first round of auditions for American Idol in Denver yesterday, according to Yahoo! News. The Spice Girl is acting as a guest judge on the show following the departure of Paula Abdul.

Yes, mostboringseasonever, intellectuals everywhere will miss Ms. Abdul’s incisive commentary and keen wit. She was an incoherent, narcissistic moron, and the fact that anyone is lamenting her departure (prompted by Paula’s pique at not being paid more per year than most Americans would see in two lifetimes – - to burp vapidities a few times a week, a few months per year) is a condemnation of our idiot culture, and not of AI.

Paula is a cool lady who says more constructive things than Randy or Kara combined. On top of that, she added personality to the panel. Really, who the hell is Simon gonna torment now? She was the only one with an actual beating heart.
How about Simon tormenting the IDOLS? This show should be about the IDOLS. It should spend more time providing the personality of all of the IDOLS. It should spend more time providing singing by the IDOLS. Meaningless comments and torment are provided on every channel on TV. Why can’t we have one that has class and means something to the music industry. That would be one heck of a show. Imagine that…..
Well said indeed. Even assuming that her contributions to the show justify the salary she rejected (which is not the case), rejecting that much money for doing something she supposedly loves to do, completely changed my perception of her. Even people who liked her should take a second look and realize that she is no sweetie, just another spoiled overpaid human being the world would be better without.
If I read correctly, Posh is only a guest judge for auditions, Katy Perry is too. I don’t think they’ll hire either one of them full time.
Posh is only going to be a ‘GUEST’ judge like Kate Perry. They are also bring in Annie Lennox and Olivia Newton-John to guest as temporary judge. In fact, Olivia or Annie might take Paula’s place in the long run according to People Magazine insiders.
I am interested in how well Annie Lennox does as a judge. She knows success as the vocalist of a band and solo act.

I didn’t watch last year (school), but heard so much about lambert and saw him on you tube. He didn’t win, now paula is gone, whta’s the point. It’s no longer American Idol, but the British wish. Paul and Simon’s chemistry can be replaced and anyone who tries will come across as fake. They wanted her out because of she said about them not protecting her with the woman who killed herself. I had a feeling this was coming and now conformed. What’s up with the caucasian men getting raises, but not the female. She’s better off out and the public will sleak volumes. AI is doomed…
According to entertainment magazine they offered Paula a 30% raise. Simon Cowell is the only caucasian male on the show
