Green Hornet fans, your Kato has been cast, err, recast. Taiwanese singer and actor Jay Chou will star opposite Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet’s sidekick, according to Variety. Chou, who previously appeared in Zhang Yimou’s The Curse of the Golden Flower, replaces Stephen Chow, who dropped out of the movie in July. The Green Hornet begins shooting in September under the direction of Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), and is scheduled to be released next summer.

The Green Hornet existed long before the TV series, so the casting was right, even if Lee was the better fighter.

They should have given it to ‘Rain’. He was cool in Speed Racer.
Yea Rain would be really good. Jay Chou fits well though. Jay knows more martial arts than Rain I’m sure. Rain can speak English better though, and is a better actor. Jay is an unique individual, and I’m sure he will do great.
My son looks like him, and we are hoping to be called for a reading to play SETH ROGEN as a child, or it may be his son. Sorry some of you don’t like Seth, I think he’s awesome. Do you think he could pass for his younger self?

well, personally i think that when everyone says that jay chou is a bad actor, and shouldn’t play the role, i dont think that is exactly fair. First of, Jay Chou can’t be good at everything, and i think everyone is expecting a little to much from him. Although he isn’t a very good actor, i still thought the entire movie was pretty well done and successfull. (: (: and Jay Chou said he wasn’t trying to copy Bruce Lee, rather play kato in his own way.
