The confirmed cast of Robert Rodriguez’s (and protégé Ethan Maniquis’s) next movie, Machete, was announced in Variety today, and there are some unexpected names making the cut. Machete features Danny Trejo playing the title character, a Mexican Charles Bronson-type gun for hire — a character who appeared in a fake trailer for 2007’s Grindhouse. Starring alongside Trejo will be Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Nash Bridges co-stars Cheech Marin and Don Johnson, and in her first major film role in some time, Lindsay Lohan. The list puts to bed rumors that Jonah Hill would also join the cast. Machete is expected to hit screens next year.

Rodriguez dumped his wife and his respectability as a film-maker when the money started rolling in after Desperado. Now, he’s a sell-out, just cranking out movies for the money, like the director version of Eddie Murphy.

It would be a great cast if the now crappy Lindsey Lohan wasent a part of it. I bet $10 that shes going to play some kind of stripper or prostitute.

For all her troubles off-set, LL is a fine actress and plenty easy on the eyes as well. I’m looking forward to this movie; Planet Terror was definitely the better half of Grindhouse…

Sounds amazing that Steven Seagal is involved with this film(having seen its lurid but fun faux trailer in GRINDHOUSE),for it’ll be interesting to see what type of role Robert Rodriguez will cast Seagal in(whether it’ll be a good guy or a bad guy).
