Jennifer Aniston to star in prison band project 'Goree Girls'

Categories: Movies

Jennifer Aniston will star in Goree Girls, based on the true story of an all-female country band in a 1940s Texas prison, Variety reports.

Michael Sucsy, who directed HBO’s Emmy-nominated Grey Gardens, will make his feature directorial debut with the film. Aniston and her Echo Films partner Kristin Hahn will also serve as producers along with Overnight Productions. Overnight struck a deal with DreamWorks to get the project out of turnaround, and Goree Girls is now slated to begin production in January 2010.
