Steve Zahn will star in an adaptation of Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid novels, Variety reports. Two pairs of writers — Jeff Filgo and Jackie Filgo, and Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs — wrote the screenplay about a struggling middle-school student. Zahn will join Rachael Harris in playing the kid’s parents; Zachary Gordon will play the title role, chosen after a nine-month search.
