MTV announced the nominees for the 2009 Video Music Awards today and Lady Gaga and Beyonce lead the pack with nine nods. Following the two divas are: Britney Spears (seven); Kanye West, Eminem, and Coldplay (four each); Green Day (three), and Jay-Z (two).
The awards will be broadcast live from New York City on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand.

Lady GaGa, by far, made the most interesting video’s.
YES! No jonas brothers and no Miley Cyrus as nominations thank god, that last year was just a joke and a shame to MTV to put that, thankfully they corrected the nominations and actually put worthy musicians to get nominations this year!
Saying this as an adult woman, I don’t see how Lady Gaga is more of a “worthy musician” than the Jonas Brothers, who write their own music and play their own instruments.
Y? is it always the same ones who are nominated???

Beyonce deserve evey awards no talent spears deserve none. She is not relevant in music today. It all about Gaga, beyonce and katy and all of those girls are more talented than her.
Kelly Clarkson is the most talented singer. She has the most amazing vocals. I hope she beats them all.
Beyonce is a better vocalist than Kelly. Or if anything, they’re both on the same level.
We all know that Kelly and Beyonce have great vocals, but this isn’t the Grammy’s. This the the VMA’s. You have to choose which video in the category you like best.
I want Lady GaGa to win!!!! The Poker Face video is too awesome and original to not win!!!
