Keanu Reeves is set to star in and produce romantic comedy Henry’s Crime, Variety reports. Malcolm Venville will direct the project, which starts shooting in November in Buffalo, NY. It will mark the first film for Reeves and Stephen Hamel’s production outfit Company Films. Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) wrote the romantic comedy about a big-hearted man who is falsely accused of robbing a bank.

CBS on board for 'Open Books' from 'Will & Grace' alum
CBS has come on board for a new multicamera comedy script by Gail Lerner (Will & Grace), according to The Hollywood Reporter. The network has committed to the pilot of the tentatively titled Open Books, about a book editor and her circle of friends. The show will be relationship-driven as the big-hearted editor gets overly involved in the lives of her friends, mother and clients.
MTV confirms pilot for 'Teen Wolf' revamp
MTV’s revamped Teen Wolf series has gained momentum, with The Hollywood Reporter confirming that MTV will present the pilot. In January, the cable network had announced the reinvention of the 1985 film was in development. Michael J. Fox starred in the original as a high schooler who turns into a werewolf.
Fox signs up for political drama 'Worthy'
Fox has committed to the pilot of new drama Worthy, written by In Treatment‘s Davey Holmes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project follows an Arizona politician who is involved in a hit and run and gets blackmailed by the mob. Holmes, who has also written for Pushing Daisies and Damages, said Worthy will include homages to real politicians. The network will soon appoint a casting director.
ABC lawyers up with Josh Schwartz comedy-drama
ABC has won the network battle for a Josh Schwartz’s new untitled hour-long drama-comedy about a commitment-phobic lawyer, Variety reports. Schwartz will executive produce while Chuck‘s Ali Adler will write the script. The story is based on a real Los Angeles female attorney who specializes in divorce and family law; the character vows never to get married after struggling with her clients’ divorces.
'The L Word' to get reality makeover
The L Word will be back on Showtime after a reality makeover, Variety reports. The cable network has ordered nine episodes of The Real L Word: Los Angeles, from the fictional show’s creator Ilene Chaiken and Top Chef producers Magical Elves. The project will follow six lesbians in Los Angeles. It is expected to debut sometime in 2010.
Guillermo del Toro to produce movie version of comic book 'Deadman'
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (The Hobbit, Pan’s Labyrinth) is adding yet another project to a roster increasingly stuffed with upcoming productions. Variety is reporting that del Toro will produce Deadman, an adaptation of a DC Comics title about a murdered circus acrobat whose ghost can take hold of living bodies. The Warner Bros. production will be helmed by Danish director Nikolaj Arcel, making his English-language debut.
Chris Brown says he does remember hitting Rihanna
Chris Brown, in a statement released to People.com, says that he does in fact remember hitting Rihanna, refuting a widely circulated clip of an upcoming interview with CNN’s Larry King in which Brown said “no” when asked if he remembered assaulting the singer. Brown claims he “misspoke,” stating that he was asked “something like four or five times” about the attack during the hour-long interview, and “the first four times – or however many times it was – I gave the same answer – which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night.” Brown goes on to say, “Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before.”
Rebecca De Mornay to star in remake of horror film 'Mother's Day'
Variety is reporting that Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) will take the lead role in a remake of the 1980 horror film Mother’s Day, about a ruthless matriarch and her sociopathic family who return to their former home and terrorize its new residents. Deborah Ann Woll (HBO’s True Blood), Jamie King (Showtime’s The Tudors), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men: The Last Stand), and Briana Evigan (this September’s Sorority Row) will co-star in the independent production, which starts shooting in Canada next week.
'The Green Hornet' release date moves to December 2010
Various outlets are reporting that the Seth Rogen action movie The Green Hornet has moved its release from July 7, 2010 to Dec. 17, 2010. Rogen told HitFix.com that he’s “relieved and psyched about the [date] change,” since it gives the film, due to start filming this week with director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), needed extra time for post-production and promotion.
