Wu Tang Clan: Method Man says new album in works

Wu Tang Clan's Method Man told MTV News that he and former bandmembers RZA, Raekwon, and Ghostface Killah were planning a joint album and were currently "in discussion" about the project, according to NME. "It's in discussion right now," he said. "I don't want to say it'swritten in stone, but it's in discussion. I want some feedback from thefans to see how they would take that." Despite the up-in-the-air status of hte project, Method Man gave details, saying that the album would feature some "RZA-produced tracks, some other outside producers, of course, and we gonna have Wu Tang members on the album, but it'll be a Rae, Ghost and Meth album." The Wu Tang Clan's last album, 8 Diagrams, was released in 2007.

'Emo Boy': Jaime King and Lucas Cruikshank to star

Jaime King and Lucas Cruikshank are attached to star in Emo Boy, the live-action adaptation of the graphic novels created by Stephen Emond, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The adaptation will focus on the title hero, a high schooler convinced he has "emo powers." (In case you don't know, "emo" refers to a especially angsty and sensitive breed of young person.) Cruikshank (iCarly, Hannah Montana) is set to portray Emo Boy, while King (My Bloody Valentine 3-D, The Spirit) will play Mrs. Hutcherson, a teacher and "emo sympathizer."

Radio royalty bill will go before Senate

On Aug. 4, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hear the Performance Rights Act, a bill that would require broadcast radio stations to pay royalties to performers for playing their songs, Variety reports. AM and FM radio stations currently pay royalties to songwriters and publishers, but not performers. Several performers, including Sheryl Crow, will.i.am, and Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, have expressed support for the bill.

'Hell's Kitchen' producers jump into 'Shark Boat'

Variety reports that A. Smith and Co., producer of Hell's Kitchen, is developing Shark Boat, a reality series that will follow the owner and staff of Hawaii Shark Encounters, which lets customers enter shark-filled waters inside a protective cage. (The company's Web site claims, "If you don't see a shark, you don't pay!") Owner Stefanie Brendl founded Hawaii Shark Encounters in 2002 with her boyfriend and former host of the Discovery Channel's Shark Week, Jimmy Hall. Hall was killed in a base-jumping accident in 2007.

'American Idol' executive producer signs three-year deal

Ken Warwick, executive producer of American Idol, has signed a three-year, reportedly eight-figure deal with co-producer FremantleMedia North America to remain as showrunner for the megahit singing competition, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Warwick became Idol‘s sole executive producer when Nigel Lythgoe left the show last summer, and exercised his solo power by making alterations to the Idol format like upping the number of contestants from 24 to 36 and reestablishing the wild-card round.

'Saw' series to get seventh installment

Just as the teaser trailer for Saw VI hits the Web, Variety reports that Lionsgate has given the green light to the seventh film in the horror franchise. Mark Burg and Oren Koules, who have produced the entire series to date, return as producers, and Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the writers behind Saw IV, V and VI, will script. Production is set to begin in January.

Jackson doctor under investigation for manslaughter

The AP reports that a search warrant was filed Thursday in a Houston court allowing authorities to collect manslaughter evidence against Michael Jackson's cardiologist, Conrad Murray, who was with Jackson at the time of his death. Though previous reports have indicated that Murray could be charged with manslaughter, this warrant is the first official confirmation of the investigation. Authorities used the warrant to seize items from Murray's Houston clinic. People adds that the focus of the raid was to seize Murray's computer hard-drive in order to find potentially incriminating emails.

Michael Jackson autobiography 'Moonwalk' to be reprinted

According to the Associated Press, a Los Angeles judge approved a request by the temporary administrators of Michael Jackson's estate to allow Jackson's 1988 autobiography Moonwalk to be reprinted. The book could hit stores in France as early as August. No word yet on when it's likely to be released in the U.S.

Megan Fox didn't shun Bond girl offer

People reports that Megan Fox did not turn down an offer to play a Bond girl in the next 007 film. Internet rumors had the Transformers star accepting the role, then walking away because she felt it was too marginal. But Fox's rep contends that Fox was never approached.

Nas ordered to pay Kelis $44,000 a month in child support for baby born Wednesday

According to the AP, a Los Angeles judge demanded that rap star Nas pay $44,000 in monthly child support payments to his estranged wife, Kelis, who gave birth to their son, Knight, yesterday. Kelis, a singer best known for her hit, "Milkshake," delivered the boy in a New York hospital. She filed for divorce from Nas last April and the two have been haggling over child support payments for months.
