Categories: News, Television

People reports that American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi will return for the show’s upcoming ninth season. It will be her second year at the judges’ table alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul, who is publicly negotiating her own return to Idol. When contacted by EW about reports of a DioGuardi deal, a Fox rep said the network has no comment.

    UGH WE DONT WANT HER!!

  • Mike

As a Kara fan, I am thrilled to read that she is going to be returning.

Now if only we could bring Paula back too and get rid of Randy…

      +1

much rather have kara than paula. at least kara can sing. paula is clueless about what makes a good singer.

    • Emma

I second that! 4 judges are too many anyway.

  • Konfide-N-Me

    Kara can’t sing THAT well

  • Andrew

The girlpower that she and Paula brought against Simon was annoying. Kara put extremley untalented people like Nick Mitchell Aka Norman Gentle just to make Simon mad. Not very professional of her at all!

    • Mike

Kind of like Simon put Bikini Girl through just because she was in a bikini? Right…

      • Bill

        AW SNAP!!!

  • D

Please don’t let Kara come back! Ugh!!! She adds nothing to the show and takes so much away from the authenticity of it!

  • Mark

I guess I’m ambivilent about Kara’s return. I don’t want her over Paula (who has been really on point this last season), but she’s better than Randy. How long until we can get rid of the ‘Dawg’, anyway?

    • Joe

what point was Paula on, the point of a mental breakdown. She babbles on with NO actual thought at all. The only thing that get’s me through the show is fast forward on my DVR. Can’t listen to anything Paula, or that other moron Seacrest say. It really makes to show go fast…

      • colin

That’s just factually not true. Once Paula got off her pain meds her feedback completely changed from previous seasons.

after last sessions american idol – I WILL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER SHOW AS LONG AS I LIVE!

  • Laura

Booooo. Kara was a terrible, nonsensical waste of time and space judge, who also inflicted us with the atrocious “No Boundaries.” Ug, why’d they have to bring her back??

  • Briana

I think this sums it up: FML.

  • Tom

    Boo on re-signing Kara.

And so it worsens. Look, it was abundantly clear last season that the producers stopped caring. Having Kara back is more a testament to her agent’s skills than any thought on the producers part to improve the show. Let’s be honest: Kara is a poison, she brings nothing special to the show, she only adds to the heap of cynicism, arrogance and self-absorption that the judges perfected last season. Just about the only thing Kara brings is that creepy cougar vibe — brrr.

Ha, wish I could say I will never watch the show again. Sadly, I probably will, as will we all, and the producers will once again high-five themselves at a job well done.

    Still…Kara…no.

  • rachel

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Well, I haven’t decided if I am watching, now with her return, it doesn’t look good..

I think that every year we should get a chance to vote a judge off the show and then add someone new each year. Simon is exept of course.

Kara added nothing to the show but more annoyance. Her comments did nothing for me and I got tired of hearing her talk about “Artistry” and so on. And her song “No Boundaries” was the most retarded song I’ve heard in a long time. The 4 judges format doesn’t work because by the time they rattle on and on Simon doesn’t get much time to talk and I would rather hear Simon’s critique than anyone else’s.
