It seems like Robert Schwentke is a director very much in demand these days. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the man who lensed the upcoming romantic drama The Time Traveler's Wife is in active negotiations to direct the new spy thriller called Red, starring Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman. Based on a tale told in the pages of Wildstorm/DC Comics, the film is about an ex-government agent forced to go on the run when he and his galpal are put in the crosshairs of a ruthless assassin. The Time Traveler's Wife –starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams– is being released on Aug. 14 by New Line Cinema and is Schwentke's second American film. He previously shot the Jodie Foster thriller Flightplan.
