George Lopez's late-night show debuts Nov. 9

Tags:

TBS announced Nov. 9 as the launch date of Lopez Tonight, the new evening talk show hosted by comedian George Lopez, Variety is reporting. The show will occupy an 11 p.m. (ET) time slot, effectively putting Lopez on the air after Jay Leno, but a half-hour before David Letterman on CBS and Conan O'Brien on NBC. Despite concerns about going up against such well-established competition, Lopez says he does not believe the other hosts will detract from his own drawing power, and that his status as a minority could create more long-term opportunities for overall ethnic diversity in television.

Im hoping that his definition of Latino-American isn’t solely Mexican and/or Southwest American. It would be very disappointing.
