Who cares?! It’s a movie!
Look around there are more important things to worry about
Total BS! Bring back Rachelle Or DOWN WITH SUMMIT!!
yea, let someone else make the series why do we need Summit to do it!
I have to side with Rachelle on this one. She was too detailed and that brought out damage control for Summit. Based on past and present other examples – I think Summit is doing a CYA. If they were a class act they either would have worked it out or not responded this way.
That’s utter crap – Summit wanted a big name for the part as Victoria has a much larger role in Eclipse than in either of the other two films. This was their excuse to do it. Not cool, but that’s hollywood I guess.
While I’m as depressed as any Twihard out there right now, I love Rachelle and think she’s an amazing person, Summit didn’t intend to drag this through the dirt. Their initial statement was there was a scheduling conflict, period. They didn’t place any blame on her. When she released her statement accusing them of being shady, they had 2 choices: either to let us all think they screwed her over because they were being inflexible or because they wanted a cheaper actress last minute, OR fight back and give us the facts before the rumors spun out of control. This is a business at the end of the day. If I went up to my boss one day and said I’m going to take a part-time job and it’s going to take me out of the office for 3 hours a day, but I’m willing to make up the hours on the weekends, my company isn’t obligated to oblige me if they feel it would be disruptive to getting the work done. I mean she even said in her statement that she didn’t think it would be a big deal to have them work around her 10-day absence. I think she made an assumption and didn’t tell them soon enough. No one is disputing that she’s a great person and actress, but whether we like it or not making movies is a business.
please explain to me how 10 days is a big deal?
the shoot is only 8 weeks long. 10 days= 10 filming days, which is 2 weeks. That’s a pretty significant chunk.
Bryce Dallas Howard is a beautiful actress, and I think she will fit in perfectly. Rachelle knew about her committment a long time ago and broke it. I do not feel sorry for her; she just ruined a great opportunity for herself. I am sick of actors and actress’s playing the prince and princesses and getting everything they want and expecting everyone to work around their schedule. Good for the studio, cut the bad rubbish. – Posted by a Dedicated Twilight fan
Wow you Summit Trolls need to get less obvious the reads like a thick headed Studio schill posting including the “Dedicatated Fan” signature… We know Summit is lying because the news on Rachel was Public before the 20th. We know Bryce’s Daddy is a Hollywood power.. this is all about politics and nothing to do about quality product or the fans.. you all have been disrespected and the schill posts here taking the “corperate line” are obvious.
obviously they paid her to post that, she’s probbly a summer intern or she works for Ron Howard or his fugly daughter
A lot of aspects of Rachelle’s statement don’t sit well with me. First of all, she’s playing on the fact that most Twilighters will be sympathetic towards her, because we’ve responded positively to her in the past. Also, she makes it seem as though 10 days is nothing…when in reality, 10 buisness days is 2 weeks, which is a significant chunk of filming. Also, Rachelle said that the shoot is over 3 months long, when it’s actually only 8 weeks long. It seems to me that she’s playing “the victim.” I think that Summit made a lot of valid points, and I’m not going to rush to Rachelle’s defense just because she did a good job playing Victoria.
Also, there’s no way I would ever not see these films because of this. That wouldn’t be fair to the other actors, or to the director.
In addition, Rachelle’s comments (basically getting fans to “rally” for her) created quite a sucky situation for Bryce, who now will have to deal with a lot of hate from Twilighters.
hahahaha All these “they are so unethical!” comments are cracking me up. IT’S HOLLYWOOD. This crap-and worse goes down all the time. Of course they just want to make money. So does Stephanie Meyer with her crap teen porn.
iam so pissed too
You know what “cracks me up”? People who read an article about something they don’t like…and then take the time to actually comment on it. LOL, how pathetic.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I agree with others who’ve said that Rachelle probably wasn’t completely honest in her statement.
Summit should have asked Rachel to drop out of the other movie. Firing her without notice is mean-spirited. I don’t like the way Summit has handled this or the firing of the first film’s director.
Also, I don’t like the choice Bryce Dallas Howard to fill the role. That girl does not look menacing at all. Why would anyone be scared of her?
if you stop and think about it they tried to do the same thing with Taylor they said he was too small to play a werewolf now they try to get rid of Victoria Im so Pi**d off at them right now its not funny!
The questions is…when exactly did Summit contact BDH? Negotiations usually don’t happen that fast in this business (10 days?). Sounds like Summit had this planned for a while. Look for the breach of contract suit to be filed shortly.
If you want to show Summit you don’t agree with them, DONT GO AND SEE NEW MOON in theatres.
Watch it on YouTube.
Rob , K, and the rest of the cast are already big. They don’t need our money. They’re working on other projects. They’ll be fine.
I know IM done with Summit.
Screw that. Why would I give them my money when they treat their clients like crap?
The other actors (and the director/crew, who are NOT rich) put all of their effort into filming. I would never not see the film, when they all put so much work into it. It’s ridiculous to assume that they “don’t care” whether or not their fans see the film that they worked hard on. Of course they care.
They’ll get paid no matter what so I find it hard to believe they’ll be crying over New Moon or Eclipse bombing at the box office weather they’re poor or not.
How New Moon and Eclipse do at the box office ABSOLUTELY affects the careers of the actors, and the director. Of course they want their fans to go and see the film. Plus, they are actors who worked extremely hard to film this movie. I agree with Karen that it’s ridiculously unfair to them to boycott their film. I can’t believe people are even considering that.
Wow what a coincidence that Bryce Dallas Howard is the daughter of RON HOWARD!!! Is this really about not saying anything about prior commitment, a 10 day overlap, $$$$, or somebody’s daughter wanted a role????
