Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron is gearing up to play another pugilistic female out to fight for women’s rights. The Monster starlet has nabbed the screen rights to the satirical novel Florence of Arabia, and –according to Variety– is planning to shape it into a starring vehicle for herself. Written by Christopher Buckley, the book is about a U.S. State Department employee who launches a crusade to fight for women’s rights in the Middle East when her pal is executed after marrying an Arabian prince. This is not the first time Theron has taken on a pro-female part: in the 2005 film drama North Country, she played a fictionalized version of a woman who filed the first workplace sexual harassment lawsuit in the United States. The portrayal earned her a second Oscar nomination.
