SyFy announces premiere date for 'Caprica'

SyFy has set Jan. 22, 2010 at 9 p.m. for the premiere of their new series, Caprica. The premiere will be a two-hour event, but subsequent airings will be in one-hour episodes at 10pm on Fridays. Caprica stars Eric Stolz and Esai Morales as the patriarchs of two competing families.

    If this series is as good as the premier DVD was, I expect to run for at least a month. Maybe two, if there’s an astroturfed write-in campaign.

    After the violent raping of the fans that was the final season of Battlestar, I can’t believe anyone’s willing to devote time to this.

    I loved Galactica, so I’m really looking forward to this. Science fiction doesn’t need space battles.

    I am looking forward to this . . .even though I still don’t understand the “SyFy” instead of “SciFi.”

    That’s an executive decision. Thought it would look less geeky if they wrote it as SyFy rather than SciFi. And yes, I for one can hardly wait for Caprica. Heck I am still waiting for The Plan.
