Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, U2, and Metallica are among the bands Billboard is reporting will headline two concerts at Madison Square Garden this fall to celebrate the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th anniversary. The concerts — which will include performances from Eric Clapton, Simon & Garfunkel, and Aretha Franklin, among others — will take place October 29 and 30, and be filmed for an upcoming HBO special. Tom Hanks, Cameron Crowe, and Robbie Robertson are involved in curating the evenings, from which all proceeds will go towards creating a permanent endowment for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum.
Tickets go on sale to the general public August 3.

Oh man, this would be the perfect show for me to see if Bruce Springsteen and U2 were playing on the same bill on the same night.
Is there a reason why this concert is not in Cleveland where the Rock Hall is located? It really should be in Cleveland
U2 RULES
HMB: its in NY because the foundation was founded in NY and they threw Cleveland a bone this year already by letting us host the Induction ceremonies.
I don’t understand why they can’t have a couple acts perform here from Cleveland, ala Live Aid…
