Teen actor Jamie Waylett, who plays Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter movies, admitted to growing marijuana in a London court, the AP reports. Police reportedly found eight bags of pot during a search of a car in which the 19-year-old Waylett was riding. By pleading guilty to producing cannabis, Waylett faces a maximum of 14 years in jail. He's due to be sentenced on July 21.

Sad for many reasons. 14 years for marijuana? In Canada, murderers often serve less than that. Bad decision for the actor. From a career standpoint, Crabbe finally has a bigger role in the last book, would have been a good opportunity for him.

They pulled him over and searched his car because he took a picture of the police as he drove by them. I had no idea it was illegal to take pictures of the bobby’s in the UK. What a terrible country to live in.
Its not illegal as such, they usually just want to ask why you are taking photos of them. Same as if you take photos of people on the street its a bit dubious. I think it also depends who took the picture, if its some yobo like him then yes ask him, if its a dude walking round filming stuff with actors or a little old lady I doubt they’d be pulled over for questioning.

He obviously did it because he liked to live dangerously and he wanted to see if he could do it. He was probably getting ripped off by his former dealer and figured he could do it himself. I think if you were ridding around in a car with 8 bags of any illegal substance you would want to go from point A to B with minimal police interaction. I think taking a picture of a cop was the stupid part of this whole fandangle fiddigle wakazzam!!!! (waves wand)
