Ryan Seacrest is reportedly on the brink of signing a new deal with American Idol co-producer 19 Entertainment that would extend his contract for three years and make him one of the highest paid reality hosts on television, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. The contract would also potentially see Seacrest launching new projects with Simon Fuller, Idol's executive producer. Seacrest reportedly made close to $5 million for emceeing the Idol's eighth season.

good for him but I watch the show for PAULA so im mainly interested in her future. idol better pay her more than him as she brings 1. more fans, shes got MANY die hard super fans (trust me) and 2. more publicity and 3. shes actually a great judge

Replace him, no raise, unless it’s for his shoes! He is so awkward, especially lately. Even the judges made comments.. he’s trying to be something bigger than life and it’s getting really annoying. He’s not a pop culture icon, come on. American Idol would do better with a fresh new host.. a past contestant would be better than Seacrest. I can’t stand the fake voice and personality anymore.. a raise, WOW. This country really has no idea where to put their monies.
Can’t EW do something about these annoying SPAM-bots that reply to every blog entery they post? As for Seacrest – who cares. I was hoping they’d dump him and Paula and bring in Kat Deely as the host of American Idol – she’d be worth every penny they paid her. As for Paula – she can’t put more than two words together that make sense and she has no business “judging” another human being when it comes to singing. Dancing, maybe. Singing absolutely not.
