Uber-private rapper Jay-Z is reportedly close to a book deal with Random House's Spiegel & Grau imprint. The New York Observer claims that Jay-Z pitched three ideas, and that Spiegel & Grau expressed interest in a book consisting of Jay-Z's lyrics and the stories behind them. The project would represent Jay-Z's first literary work, though a publish date remains unknown.
