A Michael Jackson memorial concert is being planned for August 29 at the O2 Arena in London where the late star had planned to perform 50 dates. Variety is reporting that Randy Phillips, president of the company AEG Live which was promoting the O2 shows, told UK's Sky News that "at some point the world needs to see thisproduction, and I would imagine it could be done as a tribute with thefamily… and the stars that were influenced by (Jackson). We arediscussing with the family so the sooner the better."

I doubt this will happen, esp. involving the family. They did their tribute in the memorial. Plus who could do it? Janet bailed on her recent tour (exhaustion, she’s obv. out of shape), maybe Jermaine as we see he can still sing. Sounds like kind-of a bad idea.
Janet is definitely out of shape – LOL! Yeah, she looked more like Tito. She looks good with a little bit of meat, though.
Does anybody know if there are plans to release any of the performances from the memorial service? I know, it’s a little crass to sell performances from a funeral service but there was some great stuff that I’d like to have on video/audio
PNK-Of course the family’s going to do this. They want to be on stage – they want to make money and this is the perfect opportunity. Janet is looking voluptuous – nothing wrong with that. I’m sure she can manage one show with other performers. What’s the big deal? It’s not like they have 50 shows to do by themselves!

They need to do it while the tributes to Michael Jackson are continuing. I’m sure that Janet Jackson, when she takes time off to mourn, will come back and do a knockout show for the audience with a lot of dancing! And I’m sure that Jermaine and his brothers will perform for this tribute as well. I’m sure that many stars of a lot of music genres will take part in this special concert in August.
janet looked fine to me at the memorial she looked in great shape and a few weeks at the gym she will be even better and she will dance her backside off as always and put on a good show for everyone to enjoy other than michael she is the only other one with real talent go janet show what you are made of and make michael even more pround of you
I didn’t mean she looks out of shape now or at the memorial, I meant when her shows were occurring, she quit after like 2 performances with exhaustion and all and her pics did not look the best. Out of shape in that regard, a series being hard to do physically. Yes, could prob handle doing “a” show.
As much as I’ve never liked Janet Jackson, I believe the best scenario is for her to perform Michael’s songs as lead singer with the Jackson brothers backing her up as they would’ve Michael. The bros don’t get enough credit for their talent and I’m glad Jermaine reminded people of the warm, resonant voice he has at the memorial. He was the other lead singer of the Jackson Five. Would love to see this happen.
Now that Michael’s gone, let’s see it all- the rehearsal tapes as a DVD and live album, and let’s hear music from the vaults.
If you look up the ages of the Jacksons, Janet is the oldest at about 40. Tito and Janet are the only ones who have toured and worked consistently on stage, so it would be questionable about the others. Too bad the brothers broke up, they were a great group w/o MJ for a while and then they went poof! Don’t understand it unless there is a lot of in-fighting. But they should pick up their instruments and give it another try. Just keep Latoya out of it.
i love the jackson family like my own family. they are all good people. i would love for janet and the brothers to get together musicaly. even if only for a speciual cause. RIP michael, God bless, i love you, shannon
