All I hear is the 1.4 million dollar security bill incurred during Michael’s memorial. Why not question the millions of dollars that came in because of Michael’s fans wanting to pay their respects? They flew in and out, they ate while in CA. They had to sleep somewhere and I’m sure they checked out other sites. Although it was due to the tragic loss of a great human being but the winner here if you must have one was California. This was income they would not have seen….!!!!!

TOTALLY AND UTTERLY RIDICULOUS, and you wonder why the state is in the financial condition it’s in? Villaraigosa has definitely been hanging out with his t.v. reporter girlfriends entirely too much not to realize that this is about fiscal responsibility and NOT about pride or how it might look, as in cheap, instead of fiscally responsible to it’s residents! Why didn’t the Jacksons pay for it?!?

This is absolutely ridiculous. No wonder L.A.’s financial situation sucks. Instead of working on improving the economy we’re paying for Michael Jackson’s memorial service. No disrespect to the Jacksons but they should pay for it. We definetly need a new mayor.

LA pays for a lot of dumb stuff but this is not one of them I think LA should be honored that MJ’s memorial took place there.

I am livid, that we have to pay anything for funeral expenses for this. He was not a government official! Why do the citizens of LA, who work hard and pay exhorbitant taxes already for city and state taxes even have to deal with this? When I die, will the City of LA pay for my funeral expenses? This is outrageous! and pathetic

You bunch of money grubbers it was ok that Michael & his family chose your city to live in the last 40 years and to think of the taxes they have paid. Did anyone go and check how much they have charged every celebrity family who has died in LA one for all all for one. They spent 1.4 million in overtime for cops BUT asked all of MJ fans to stay away if you did not have a pass and ALL of MJ fans did out of respect for MJ. By end of day they announced on TV they over estimated security. We did it out of respect for the Jackson’s not LA
