Saturday Night Live's MacGruber is about to explode on the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Forte's recurring sketch parody about an easily distracted MacGyver-type has Ryan Phillippe and Val Kilmer in its sights for a full-length adaptation. Phillippe would play an Army colonel who recruits the jaded MacGruber (Forte) for a mission to stop a nuclear-armed villain, conceivably played by Kilmer. Kristin Wiig will reprise her supporting role, Lorne Michaels will producer, and Jorma Taccone, who helmed most of the skits on SNL, will direct.

huh… yeah. what’s next “opps i craped my paints: the movie”
Its kind of embarrassing how such an empty skit with little to no following, becomes a big screen movie!! The skit itself was redundant and filled with humor only a kid in grade school would find slightly amusing. Lets make some QUALITY comedies with substance…whatever happened to those?? Judd Apatow is the closest thing right now
I have said it before but it bears repeating.
This movie will make more money then NIght at The Roxbury, but less then Ladies Man. Depends how many family members Will Forte can convince to pay full price for a ticket.
Possibly the best news I’ve heard in a long time. MacGruber haters have no pop culture, theyre empty inside.
I would rather watch a movie about Mark Wahlberg’s life story starring Andy Samberg…oh, that’s right…they already made that into a TV show on HBO…
Not to throw your logic out the window mark in nyc but NATR made 30 million while Ladies Man only made 13 million. Hopefully you don’t work in accounting.
This sounds like a horrible idea. The sketch totally jumped the shock when it moved from being amusing digital shorts used ocasionally to selling out for unfunny Pepsi ads.
Liz totally jumped the shark when she tried to use a tired-out expression and screwed it up with a typo.
HaHaHa!! this movie will be hillarious! But i also do agree with woW in the fact that they can make this snl short into a 2-hour deal. sounds to good to be true? I guess we’re gonna find out. I seriously hope it does’nt suck, i love will forte. they should get shia Labeuof to reprise the role of his son!! hehe..”anal lubricant..’
“Dick in a Box: The Movie”?
Yeah!!!! I love this skit! It’s hilarious. I posted somewhere that they should make a movie out of it… maybe here… I don’t know… could I get maybe a small percentage? ;o) Ricahrd Dean Anderson needs to make a cameo, though. That would be fun.
