Google announced last night that it is developing a web-oriented operating system based on its browser Chrome. The new OS is "separate from Android," Google's mobile-focused product, according to the release. Chrome will be platform agnostic and will run on a Linux-based kernel, and Google says they're "completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. [Chrome] should just work."
