Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights) has nabbed the lead in Beautiful Wave, a coming-of-age drama set in Santa Cruz, Calif., according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the independent film, she'll play a teenager who lives with her grandmother (Home Improvement's Patricia Richardson) for a summer and begins to surf. She also uncovers a family secret. The Legend of Billie Jean's Helen Slater costars.
