Broadcast and cable networks are beginning to sort out their plans for the July 7 public memorial for Michael Jackson, according to the Associated Press. Although all the video will come via the same pool feed from the Los Angeles Staples Center, ABC, CNN, HLN (formally Headline News), MSNBC, E!, CNN en Espanol and CNN International all plan to broadcast the memorial live, starting at 10 a.m. (PDT). Several networks are sending their top anchors for the event, including Charles Gibson for ABC and Anderson Cooper for CNN. Katie Couric will cover the event from the Staples Center for CBS, but the network hasn't released how it intends to broadcast the memorial. NBC, meanwhile, is not planning live coverage, instead choosing to air a one-hour highlight special in prime-time. Fox News has not announced its plans.

Dear God…how ridiculous. Just let the cable news channels cover it if they must.
Shame on the networks not showing this. Michael Jackson was an hero to the world. He was beloved and gave to more charities than anyone in HIStory. His music made everybody happy.
I realize how talented he was and the influence he made, but the networks have already donated a lot of time to MJ. But there has not been any coverage of the death of Billy Mays, who I was more saddened by. Not even n interview with his family.
I believe the world is interested in knowing more than ever more about Michael’s life and this is what the public wants.
I sure hope that YouTube could broadcast this live for those who cannot get DTV and cannot afford cable service in the midst of the economic downturn.
You know what buddy… Michael Jackson is 10000000 times more important than billy mays (no offense) but you cant even compare BM To MJ KING OF POP…He is a wonderfull person and performer MJ ALL THE WAY BAYBEE!! Woot woot MUCH LOVE 4ever
HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT MJ!!!!!!!!!!
oh, for God’s sake…enough already…far as I’m concerned he was a drug addicted child molester…good riddance and who cares
Who the eff says good riddance when ANYONE dies let alone Michael Jackson? You are a disgusting human being. And fyi the kid who accused him of molesting him just came out and admitted he lied for his dad to get money. Do your research before you cast judgement.
Who says good riddance about anyones death let alone Michael Jackson’s? You are a disgusting human being. And fyi, the kid who accused Michael of molesting him (Evan Chandler) came out and admitted that he did it to get money and that his dad pressured him. Do your research before you cast your narrow minded, ignorant judgements
liz, you stupid guga, if you don’t care why write these comments? ah, and by the way , your behaviour is one of a junkie…
liz you silly guga, why you comment if you don’t care? anyhow, your behaviour is one of a jumpy junkie…
As sad as it was that Billy Mayes passed away, you can’t really compare the two. I don’t think Billy Mayes contributed over $300,000,000 to charity in his same years on earth as MJ did, that above everything else he did deserves more news coverage than Billy Mayes…
Michael Jackson certainly donated more money than Billy Mays. Also payed out more hush money because he molested kids and Billy didn’t. I will wish the best for Billy’s family and friends, and wish MJ gets off of every TV station and radio and lets more deserving news get released
Rick – Michael Jackson was never convicted of molesting anyone. He should be given the benefit of the doubt. Beside that, what parent accepts money over convicting someone that took away their kid’s childhood, possibly their life? MJ paid to make that nightmare go away – He did not molest anyone!
Nadia- If he was innocent, why pay to make it go away? Surely he would have let the courts listen to his story to decide his innocence. If he had nothing to worry about, then paying for it to go away doesn’t really give credibility to his innocence.
