Farrah Fawcett's funeral: Ryan O'Neal, Joan Collins among 200 guests who attend

Ryan O'Neal and his son Redmond were joined by Joan Collins, Tatum O'Neal and Marla Maples at a private funeral Tuesday in downtown Los Angeles to celebrate the life of Farrah Fawcett, according to People. Alana Stewart and Fawcett's doctor Lawrence Piro delivered the eulogies in front of 200 guests at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. "Goodbye sweet girl," said Stewart at the hour-long service. "[Farrah] never felt sorry for herself during her illness … she fought cancer furiously."

Ryan and Redmond served as pallbearers and a man in a kilt played "Amazing Grace" on a bagpipe. Fawcett, 62, died last Thursday after a long battle with cancer.

I wonder if any of the ‘angels’ showed up or were invited?: Kate, Jaclyn, Cheryl (obvious choices), but Shelley and Tanya should have been there too?
Farrah will be missed and well remembered.
    Rest in peace gorgeous one.

I have been so sad over the recent celebrity deaths especially Farrah Fawcett. She was my fave angel the first year of Charlie’s Angels, though as a kid, became angry with her for leaving the show before the second season began taping. I am so glad the producers found Cheryl Ladd. A safe replacement for her.
Farrah, may you rest in peace. I do believe it was said that Jaclyn, Kate, and Cheryl Ladd were there as well as 70s supermodel Cheryl Tiegs. Photos can be found of Kate and Tiegs. Though Farrah did work some with Shelley Hack the fourth season of Angels, Farrah’s commitment to the show ended after that and before Tanya stepped in as the last Angel.
Farrah, you will be missed and always remembered through your work and photos.

    Farrah Fawcett Forever!

I have certainly shed a tear for the passing of this beautiful Angel. She was a nice part of my childhood during a time I really do miss. I’m so sorry she had to leave us and all of my prayers are with her, her Family and Friends. Especially Ryan, what a tragic end for a love story. Red, please turn it around for your Mom. She still needs that. If not do it for yourself, do it for her. Anyway, we all have to go on somehow. I’m just happy that Farrah’s farewell was done with dignity, class and with love. Not a freak-circus show. She was so much better than that. Rest in peace Farrah. Angel on Earth, now an Angel in Heaven! We love you!

Funny thing is…I never thought of myself as a “Farrah Fan”. But when I heard the news of her passing, I cried and cried and cried! Who woulda thunk?
I am 43 years old and a GAY! So while there was no physical attraction, there was something about this Blonde Bombshell that captured my heart.
Yes, I had that damn poster on my wall! Was I lusting after her? Hell no! I just loved her hair and that million dollar smile!
God bless you, Miss Farrah. You are an angel who has earned your wings and Heaven is prettier for it.
God Bless Ryan and Redmond. May you both find peace and love!

Cheryl-Farrah’s sister passed away from cancer a few years back as did her Mother but from what, don’t know. She is survived by her Father.

Stiffy- according to another news source Kate Jackson was at the funeral.
RIP – Farrah. Too bad her death was overshadowed by Michael Jackson’s. She was a class act!

  • brenda

Prayers for the Ryan, Redmond, Alana, friends, family and fans. Farrah was a class act. I know Tatum had her moments with Farrah but she did speak fondly of her, I think many will miss this brave woman. Redmond, fight as hard as you can for your mother. She would have given anything to gotten more time to spend with you, don’t throw your life away.

I’m glad it was a private funeral, and that Farrah’s passing is not receiving the sort of media scrutiny to which Michael Jackson’s is being subjected.

I am so glad I have an opportunity to voice my opinion, I am so sick of the Jackson stuff. Don’t the media realize that he was a lunatic? it’s ashame they now treat him like a king and worshiping him like he was a God. Give me a break.
Here is a woman of high integrity, who died on the same day and got no respect by the media. What a shame! Imagine if she had done the things Jackson had done, bet she would have known only for that. Wouldn’t you all say the media is racist??????????? Boycott Media!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deb

Thank you for ths story…when I got home from work last night I tried, in vain, to find this story on even 1 of the news channels and no one was reporting anything…goodbye to a beautiful and brave woman who fought a valiant battle and left us all sad but amazed at her strength. RIP with the angels, you have earned your wings.

You’re an idiot. You do realize EW is part of “the media”, right? Posting on EW’s message board isn’t exactly practicing what you preach. I’ll bet Farrah’s family is thrilled to be able to mourn in peace with all of the attention being on Jackson — who, BTW, was one of the most talented people to ever grace this planet. There’s no question that he was very, very strange and that he probably did do something with one of those kids, although this is still America where he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. He was acquitted in the one case brought to trial, remember? Farrah was a very pretty woman with a good heart by all accounts, but we won’t remember her in 100 or even 20 years. A talent like Michael Jackson’s is immortal.
