Amy Adams could star with Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in the David O. Russell-directed drama The Fighter, Variety reports. She's in negotiations to play a gritty bartender who ends up dating Wahlberg's character, "Irish" Mickey Ward; the film, which begins shooting this summer, tells the story of Ward's journey from the streets of Lowell, Mass., to the world lightweight championship with the help of his brother, played by Bale.

I hate Amy Adams as much as Ew loves her. SOOOOOOOO overrated
cant wait for this to start filming! there has already been maaany sightings of bale and wahlberg in lowell!!
Just an FYI, for whatever reason his first name is actually “Micky” Ward, not “Mickey,” counterintuitive as that may seem. Also, find a picture of his half brother, Dickie Ecklund, and then ask yourself why Donnie Wahlberg isn’t playing him instead of Bale. The two are dead ringers, and you’d get the meta brother angle, as well. EW should write something on this.
they’ve casted a bunch of locals already for speaking and walk on extra rolls. A few of them talk about the day here: http://www.kensavage.com/archives/irish-mickey-ward-movie/
