At a press conference outside the family estate in Encino, Calif., Monday afternoon, Joe Jackson reiterated that Michael Jackson's three children belong with their grandmother, Katherine, who was awarded temporary custody earlier today. "We're the parents. This is where they belong… We're going to take care of them and give them the education they're supposed to have," he said. This morning, Jackson family lawyer Londell McMillan said he didn't believe Debbie Rowe, the mother of Michael's two eldest, would try to separate the children from each other or Katherine, who has taken care of them since Michael's June 25 death. "Debbie Rowe has nothing to do with what we're doing," Joe said at the press conference. He also stated that memorial plans for Michael are still being worked out, and that there is no timeframe he could give the public. He said he wants the investigation into Michael's death to be completed before his son's funeral is held.

What you people forget that Michael was still very close to his mother, and she is not a leech, his father maybe, but not his mother. And do not forget they still lost a child, and having those children there is like having part of him.

The two oldest children should have the right to make a choice on where they would like to live. It would be wise to keep all three children together. Since there seems to be a history of both physical and verbal abuse by Joe Jackson, it would be wise not to have the children raised in his presence!

Sorry to say this but those kids are doomed. Katherine Jackson might be okay in her own way but she is still with her abusive husband who beat and abused Michael throughout his childhood and never laid a finger to stop him. Shouldn’t a judge look at that before placing the children into their clutches? Why is he out promoting his projects in interviews that are supposed to be about his dead son? And why is he going to awards shows and walking red carpets just days after the death of his son. He doesn’t look sad, he has dollar signs in his eyes.
I love how most media outlets were reporting today that “Katherine Jackson” has retained custody of the children. Sounds like a PR move by the Jackson camp to conveniently try to make it seem like Katherine will be in control, when we all know it will be Joe. I wish more headlines would announce that “Joe and Katherine” retain temporary custody – the two of them are married and live together, so if Katherine has custody of the kids, so does Joe. And the thought of Joe raising children should raise the hair on all our backs….

I just watched a re-run of the interview Michael did with Martin Bashear in 2003.
Listening to Michael talk about what his dad did to him – sitting at rehearsals with his belt ready to “tear them up” as Michael said if they messed up, throwing Michael against walls and beating him up – makes me sick to think of those kids anywhere near this horrible man.
Katherine will do nothing to help those kids the way she did nothing to stop Michael’s beatings. So sad.

I don’t get it. The article says “Katherine was awarded temporary custody earlier today”. Then it’s written that Joe Jackson said “we’re the parents. This is where they belong”. So who was awarded temporary custody? Was it the courts who specifically named Katherine as having custody of the children? Or was that just a PR move. Joe Jackson doesn’t live with her? And then Joe Jackson saying “these are our children”. How the hell is that true? Did Katherine give birth to them?
If I were that judge, I might give the temporary custody to Katherine, on condition that Joe Jackson leave the premises until the children’s permanent home is decided on.
The man is insane. You can know it just by him saying “these are our children”. He’s delusional. He’s a danger to those children and they should not be forced to live under the same roof as that child abuser. The court would have plenty of evidence that this is a fact.

Joe Jackson should not even be near those kids. MJ has said in the past that his father physically and verbally abused him, and gergitaded whenever he saw his dad. JJ just wants those kids because of the money.

Joe Jackson is a horrible man who exploited his entire family and is still doing in the wake of his child’s death. Amazingly this man stood up in front of the media and mid way through his comments regarding his son’s passing he has the NERVE to promote his production company. NO JOE no one loves you! They love your talented, sweet child who touched many hearts through music and dance. Cold, heartless, self serving people in MJ’s life fueled his loneliness, sadness, insecurities and ultimately drove him to drugs to ease his pain. I hope his children focus on their dads talent, heart and soul and not all the craziness that surrounded him and the selfish people who did not help him as a human being in need and not cater to his “celebrity”. Shame on those individuals who betrayed his trust in his life and now his death.
