In a statement released on Saturday night, the Los Angeles Police Department said that it had interviewed Michael Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who was present when Jackson went into cardiac arrest before dying on Thursday. The statement reads as follows: “Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician who was with Michael Jackson at the time of his collapse, voluntarily contacted the Los Angeles Police Department. Detectives assigned to Robbery-Homicide Division met with Dr. Murray and conducted an extensive interview. Dr. Murray was cooperative and provided information which will aid the investigation.” A representative for Murray also released a statement, which noted that the doctor “helped identify the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and clarified some inconsistencies…. Investigators say the doctor is in no way a suspect and remains a witness to the tragedy.” A source told the Los Angeles Times that detectives found “no red flag” during their interview with Murray.
In related news, a second autopsy on Michael Jackson has been completed by a private pathologist at the request of the Jackson family, the Times reports. Yesterday afternoon, Craig Harvey, spokesman for the L.A. County coroner’s office, announced at a press conference that although a three-hour autopsy of Jackson had been conducted, additional testing—including a toxicology screen—would be required to determine the cause of death. The process was expected to take four to six weeks. A second autopsy could provide the Jackson family with faster results. Harvey did state that the coroner’s office found no indication of foul play, and that Jackson had been using prescription medication.

Michael Jackson stood to be counted when children were dying of famine in Africa. He had a blackband in all his appearances as a constant reminder of the less fortunate and suffering children. That is the true measure of heroism. He was not infallible but certainly heroic and that is all every fair minded person should expect of a human being. He served humanity very well and may he find Gods infinite mercy and forgiveness. He merits that too.

First off, Love Michael and his music. Everyone is looking to blame someone, and it is so obvious. In a way, Michael did himself in. He had a drug addiction. His lawyers knew, his manager knew. He could have gotten pretty much any doctor to administer those drugs, he was the king. Most importantly though, his family knew. and should be held responsible for not helping him more. Michael, RIP. Your music will always be a part of our lives. For my generation, you was our king!
