An upcoming album of songs recorded by Adam Lambert before he rose to fame on season 8 of American Idol will contain eight tracks co-written by the singer, contrary to a statement released last week by Lambert's rep, according to a report in Us magazine. Last week, the singer said in a statement that in 2005 he was "hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals totracks written by someone else." A follow-up call today to 19 Recordings wasnot immediately returned.
Hi Fi Recordings, which will release On With the Show in conjunction with Willshire Records later this summer, told Us that "As co-writer and performer, Adam will receive significant royaltiesjust as any superstar artist would. He has the chance, finally, to makea fortune for his work — definitely more with this album than througha major label deal." TMZ.com, meanwhile, obtained a document it claims shows Lambert co-wrote tracks from his Willshire Records sessions with Monte Pittman, a guitarist for Madonna, and others.

And you know to believe EVERYTHING that US magazine or TMZ reports. Whatever. I’ll believe whatever it is that Adam says about it when he says something about it. Until then who cares?
More Adam news….but why?
http://tvdonewright.com/2009/06/25/nbc-announces-its-premiere-dates-for-the-fall/
I don’t believe these music execs for one second. I think they’re lying and trying to cash in on Adam’s new found fame. I will be waiting for Adam’s REAL album this fall from RCA.
Stop spreading lies! Hi-Fi are losers. Why didn’t they release the songs before? Why wait until now?
Go Adam, you rock!
Who care if he did co-write some of the tracks. He didn’t write the one that was released as the first single. Had this company been at all smart they would have released Crawl Thru fire which Adam did co-write. That song is fantastic. I’d buy it. Can’t wait though for Adams REAL first album.
Adam’s statement only referred to the single “Want”…he and his management had no idea what HiFi intended to include on this album (assuming the TMZ memo is real)…
Doesn’t anyone find it strange that Monte Pittman, Madonna’s guitarist isn’t saying anything?? Hi Fi is hanging out there by themselves to dry.
Besides, Adam’s response was to Want and On With the Show, which were not written by him…. They threw those other songs in there becasue of the backlash, and the fact Want is doing poorly on Itunes. The memo is dated for the 23rd….. Please… I’m glad Adam is staying mum so there isn’t more free press for Hi Fi.
The only believable person in this crap is Adam. !! Stop this !! This doesn’t take away from our fantastic Adam !! Leave him be and show him some respect like he gives everybody else. Lots of love to you ADAM !!
For God’s sake. All Adam said was he was “hired to lend vocals to tracks written by someone else.” He was hired to do that. He NEVER said he didnt write any of the songs. and how was he supposed to know what tracks are gonna be on the album? Also why in the hell, are these leeches trying to sell us songs that have leaked months ago and are all over youtube like Crawl Thru Fire and Pop Goes the Camera? Adam has told his fans in interviews about the many songs he wrote with Monte Pittman. A few of those songs like “Turning On” and “The Circle” were written and performed with his old band Citizen Vein. The videos are on youtube. Something smells incredibly fishy here and it has to do with how this record company is trying to spin all of this against Adam in order to persuade people to buy the songs so that they can leech off of his success. what a sad situation!
About 5-7 of those songs (it seems the names were changed for some songs) have been up on Adam’s myspace page and youtube. If someone puts music they co-wrote up on their myspace page, it’s pretty clear they aren’t trying to disown it. However, Adam had nothing to do with Want or the title song On With the Show. Those are clearly demos he did as a session singer. Want sounds nothing like him stylistically and the quality screams demo. Also, it was given to another artist Dublyn Jones and called December. It’s stupid to say that Adam was “lying”. He’s only made one statement right after Want came out and since the company bragged about how they didn’t let anyone know what they were doing, it’s safe to assume Adam had no idea want other songs besides the demos he did in sessions were going to be on the “album”.
If they thought Adam was so brilliant before, why didn’t they release these songs when he was working for them. Moneygrubbers trying to cash in now. Adam rocks, period.
Yeah, we’ve discussed this elsewhere, about how you can get “co-writer” credit for literally changing a few notes or words. It’s very hard to tell how much he wrote, and Hi Fi is definitely throwing on the hyperbole to make sure Adam is as connected to this as possible (everything except, oh, say giving Adam any say in the distribution and packaging of this album…ugh.)
The only thing that matters is that this is older stuff of his, not done for a specific album, to be packaged together as such, and that Hi Fi is just doing all this themselves without any creative input from him at this point in his career. And selling it as his “new” stuff is really unfair, considering that it is several years old. His current style is not the same. Hi Fi just wants to capitalize on his success.
So if they thought Adam was so brilliant, why didn’t they release any of these songs when he actually was working with them. Moneygrubbing creeps. Adam rocks period.
I don’t care who’s lying or who makes money here. All I care is about Adam’s voice. I will buy this Hi-Fi album and the RCA album. No one can tell me what to buy or not to buy. This was partly Adam fans fault. Because of their narrow-mindedness, now the story is getting to be ugly. They should have just allowed it to release. They have challenged Hi-Fi and they responded with facts. RCA and 19R isn’t stopping the release so what’s the bug fuzz. I have a feeling that Adam is not speaking because he knew this will be a big mess especially now that he is under contract with 19R and RCA. No harm done on Adam. He will still soar after this album.
Wow, way to check your sources. Adam’s comment came last week and referred to “Want” and “On with the Show”.
A memo is “leaked” with a tracklist dated the 23rd? Um, AFTER ADAM’S STATEMENT?
Adam’s statement clearly relates to just the two songs he knew about – how was HE supposed to know about what songs were on the CD if HiFi didn’t know until the 23rd?
I’ll echo other posters – why would you trust anything on US Weekly or TMZ without having *real* facts?
How is Adam the “only believable person” in all this?! Please remember this is the same guy that “maintain the illusion” of being ambi-sexual in order to not alienate the teeny-bopper vote during his stint in AI. This whole “I was hired” story just sounds like another illusion he’s trying squirm his way out of…
Of course the record company wants to cash in. They had these tracks gathering dust for a couple of years and now they can at least recoup their storage fees. Yeesh, people.
If Hi-Fi released the album before Adam joins the Idol then we would not have the pleasure of enjoying his performances week after week. AI have rules regarding a recording contract. Besides, just like RCA, Hi-Fi means business. That’s the way economy works.
This is such BS! Nobody has the full story because Adam’s only statement addressed Want individually. This is just another attempt by HiFi to force him into making another statement on this-which in turns garners more publicity for HiFi’s shameless antics. Without Adam’s blessing & promotion of the album, they know their little get rich quick scheme is going to backfire. And it already has. So, they conveniently added tracks that Adam co-wrote to this album in an attempt to make it look like Adam lied about his involvement & piss him off enough to respond.
Interesting how this very official memo was dated 6/23/2009 – the day Want was released to iTunes. And TMZ is so credible-who can’t see that HiFi leaked the memo to TMZ themselves? If Adam knew what songs HiFi was going to release on this record, why would he have lied about co-writing them? Oh, that’s right-he would not have lied because he didn’t know. Such manipulative & transparent behavior by HiFi. Nobody is falling for it!!
This is a simple story. Adam found out that Hi-Fi was releasing a single called “Want” on an album called “On With the Show.” Per the leaked tracklist, Adam didn’t write either of those songs; and Hi-Fi has not denied Adam’s statement that they were demos recorded in 2005 . After people freaked out, Hi-Fi added a ton of Adam co-writes to the album. Adam has already talked repeatedly about co-writing these songs with Monte Pittman for Citizen Vein (they’ve also been on YouTube for months), so there is no dispute there. Adam has not released a statement since this tracklist was leaked and he won’t deny that he co-wrote these other songs. The REAL point is that none of this music is indicative of the direction Adam is heading in or wants to head in musically. This story shamefully paints Adam as a liar without getting its facts straight. And if that’s the way Hi-Fi/Wilshire wants to promote “its artists” that way, then I’m definitely not supporting them!
If fans didn’t react so negatively about the whole thing, Hi-Fi could just released the album without any fuzz. RCA didn’t stop them and 19E have issued a statement on behalf of Adam. That should have ended the story.
you dopes. BUY the damned thing. You’re looking at the wrong chart look at the POP CHART it’s Number 45. Higher than Mad World and several other well known singles. Shoot it to the top. Do you seriously think Adam Lambert want his name associated with a flop? Dopes. Just because he didnt give you SPECIFIC instructions, are you that stupid? Or are you all 13 years old? Jeeze….
I could tell the moment Adam walked out on stage he was gay. So what? How exactly did he “maintain the illusion”? Just because he never answered questions about it doesn’t mean he was trying to “trick” anyone. I love people like you that think celebrities “owe” it to you to answer all questions they are asked. Get a life.
ATTENTION ALL GLAMBERTS
In Fox Chicago, Adam is encouraging his fans not to buy the album that HI-Fi release and for ALL GLAMBERTS to wait for his new album with 19/RCA because it’s a better representation of the artist he is now.
So Glamberts… wait for his new album that will be released in Fall.

Why won’t this story die already? I’m sick of hearing about Hi-Fi. This is the only way they’re getting publicity. All these “entertainment” magazines should follow suit of 19/RCA and STFU. Slezak where are you? Following Kris on Twitter?
Adam gets royalties as the song-writer. Why would he NOT want anyone to buy it? He’s full of it.
This is AWESOME:

REALLY PEOPLE??? You still believe what TMZ and Hecker said? This memo doesn’t prove anything, it only proves Hecker tries so hard to cover up his lies
How many of us are professional here? Look at what so called “Memo” carefully. You will see a lot of things on this memo are questionable.
1. A memo written on a letter head with NO address of the company. In professional and business world, you have a letter head with no address, phone No., fax. No. of your company? How your customers/partners will call you? Dial 411 or 911?
2. The memo just written on Tuesday, July 23, 2009, after all the boycott from Adam’s fans? Yeah.. they have to “make people believe” all the lies with other lies.
3. Google the name of the company, there’s a “?” next to the result. It means their website’s not providing security information. Open it at your risk! And they said they’re reliable?
4. GO visit ASCAP website, Adam only has 5 songs under his name
JUST BUY IT He never said not to, just that it was not like the new stuff. That’s fine. Make it a hit. Why do you guys want Adam to LOOK as if he failed?
Adam used to perform in stage musicals, these songs were made before he moved into becoming a recording artist-they certainly cannot reflect the kind of music he is currently producing. I even heard some of this older material of his on youtube. His music-made for CD=will be out around Thanksgiving.=that will be his Offical Debut Album. This HiFi music is a old material.
