Katherine Heigl is set to star in the Warner Bros. romance drama Life as We Know It, according to Variety. Everwood creator Greg Berlanti will direct the drama, with Barry Josephson and Paul Brooks producing. Heigl and her mother Nancy Heigl are exec producing. The project, which first came to life in 2001, centers around two single people who suddenly become caregivers to an orphaned girl after her parents — and mutual best friends — are killed in an accident. Heigl is starring in the romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth, opposite Gerard Butler, which hits theaters July 24.

i love berlanti. i would see this because of him – not because of heigl.
AWESOME news. Brilliant Berlanti directing superb Heigl?
This is a winner.
Cool!! I loved Everwood and Katherine is such a sweety – this movie will be so amazing
Does this mean Heigl won’t be sticking around Grey’s that long after all? Here’s a breakdown: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-11365-Greys-Anatomy-Examiner~y2009m6d24-Katherine-Heigl-is-returning-to-Greys-Anatomy-but-how-long-is-she-really-staying
This is awesome news I love Katherine Heigl – she is seriously my fave actress.
awesome news, glad to see she will be doing grey’s and a movie with greg berlanti
cant wait
Erin, that article is garbage. Of course she is coming back, and of course actors juggle movies and tv shows.
This movie does not, at all, signal that her return will be “limited.” It signals that the movie will work around her schedule on Grey’s.
I think all this speculation just fuels the fire and is not healthy. Lets just see what happens, but it is already confirmed she is coming back to Grey’s full time.
Great news. I’m glad Heigl has another drama in the works. Can’t wait to see what she does with “Escape”, and this type of romance drama I just love.
This women is disgrace for all actors, not sure who seen her interview with David Letterman tonight, she said go to Mexico and get your pets.
There are plenty of lovable dogs right here in the old USA
