So, she replaces Kirk Acevedo? Does anyone really know what happened with Kirk’s “firing”?
this stinks. I really liked Kirk Acevedo on FRINGE.
I agree with David D. — I really liked Kirk Acevedo. To me he was the “average person” point of view. I really liked the characters and the chemistry of the show. I really hope they are not changing things too much.
I have to agree with the other posters. Why get rid of Kirk Acevedo? He played the sort of “straight man”- the mellow, calming, normal presence. Loved him on Oz, too. Very bad call.
I too don’t understand Kirk Acevedo’s firing. Why didn’t they just kill him in that episode? I have always liked him in the various roles I have seen him in.
Seems like when they hired him it was because they really liked him from other projects and they were happy to have him, but when they started to make the show they realized they didn’t have alot of time to develop his character. I actually would have cast him as a Harvard professor who works with him in the lab and sort of Scullys him along the way. And then develop a romance with Astrid.
Kirk Acevedo was great on Oz and awesome on Fringe. I do not understand the firing, and really hope that he will still be on the show.
exec producer Jeff Pinkner has since confirmed to TV Guide that Acevedo “was not fired,” and adds, “Like all things on Fringe, there is more to this story than meets the eye.” Pinkner also offered this season two tease: “We have already seen two of him on the show…We have already met the second Charlie. He had a scar on his face.” this was on ew a few weeks ago, anyone know what the hell this means? is it all a publicity stunt or is her really fired?
Conner–what a fantastic idea! When I was re-watching some of the episodes I was wishing that Astrid had more of a storyline/backstory. I really like that character.
I don’t think Kirk was fired. I think the second Charlie will be a result of the attack that nearly killed him. His survival in this scenario is ominous, though, given the discord with the producers. The new character sounds like a romantic match for Peter.
I hope that Kirk will be back next season, but he even said he was fired…
well, it’s pretty clear that the guy in charge said that Kirk wasn’t fired. Maybe he’s gone recurring, maybe he’ll be ‘away’ for some episodes before returning with a venegence. There is a very large gap bewteen being full-time and ‘fired’.
She was a Deal or No Deal model who held Case # 24, and now she’s on Fringe. What’s next, Governor of Nevada?
FBI, I really don’t know what they do daily!
