Sources confirm to EW that Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl's option has been picked up for another season of the ABC series. At the end of the last season of the medical drama, the fate of Heigl's character, Izzie, was left uncertain, as she underwent brain surgery following a diagnosis of stage 4 brain and liver cancer. Heigl had been rumored to be looking to exit the show in order to focus on her film career but in public statements maintained her desire to continue in the role.

I was hoping we’d seen the last of Izzie. Hopefully next season her memory will be lost so she can take on a new personality. Enough of Poor Suffering Izzie.

I agree with Nathan, basically EW has ruined both cliffhangers in one day. Some people don’t want to know, more ambiguous headlines in the future please??
In a few months she’ll stage another huge hystrionic outburst, wait for all of her fans to beg her not to leave, and then capitulate at the last minute. Again.
She should die with George…oh well, I don’t think she’ll live much longer anyway. They might resuscitate her this time, but what about next time after she is pissed they went against her DNR and she couldn’t die with George her soulmate and see Denny in heaven?
