Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation, donated $1 million to the UN Refugee Agency Wednesday to help displaced people in Pakistan, People.com reports. Antonio Guterres, the head of the agency, thanked the foundation and called the situation in Pakistan "the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade." Jolie has worked with the UN agency for eight years. Pitt and his siblings gave $1 million this week, too, to create the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center in Springfield, Mo., in honor of their mother. Jolie will celebrate World Refugee Day in Washington, D.C., on Thursday with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Take that Brangelina Haters! Good to see them giving back, again.
It would be nice to see Branjelina giving back to those in country’s that made them rich.

They are good people you know.
These two are so transparent. Whenever things start looking bad, they jump aboard the goodwill train and make sure that everyone in the world knows it. Oh well, at least some poor souls are benefitting from the whole pr manipulation thing that they both do so well.
I dont see how people can bash them right after they donate that much.

In response to Ima Bich’s comment, “It would be nice to see Branjelina giving back to those in country’s that made them rich,” didn’t they donate a huge amount of money to Katrina refugees and help ensure housing? In my opinion, while they may live in an absurd world of their own, I have to give them major kudos for not just donating huge amounts of money, but also backing up that money with actual time working for their causes. My geeky-in-high-school snobby side wants to hate the cool kids in Hollywood, but I can’t bring myself to dislike them.
It is unfortunate that some people just simply cann’t appriciate the fact that there are other people in the world, who desperately rely on donations to meet the ‘human basic’ needs I.e. the things America and other countries take for granted every day of their lives. Maybe for those who think the money should be given back to the countries that provide the wage int he first place! I have to completely disagree with any suggestion such as this, and maybe you should go and see how people are living in the country. Poor = complete poverty, starvation and the list goes on. No access to any health or support, and in many places these do not exist. This is sad to be seeing in the 21st century.
And for those who are resentful about not being in a position like Angelina and Brad, well, ”you should have learnt a talent early on”!
DF- England, UK.
Can we believe there are people who make comments like this about something that is so wonderful!? It is unbelievable that some people live their lives with so much resentment! Maybe you should have learnt a talent from an early age.
I say keep doign what your doing ange and bradd, as its very special.
It is unfortunate that people dont understand the situation in pakistan. Think again when you think abotu seeing a doctor and having access to allt he things you clearly take for granted!

Ok, I think what they do has been amazing but I find myself on the fence. Millions of people in the US have faced foreclosure due to the economy as well as other hardships. who knows how many of those millions are familys that are now homeless. So yes while what they do for other countries is great, ours needs help too. I agree with DF, I think a mass majority of us americans take for granted what we have. We should all (average joes and the rich) should pull together to help those in need here. I read that some people dont realize whats going on in other countries but do you realize whats going on here? We have children being beaten or raped and in some cases murdered on a daily basis. Child pornographers and sex offenders walking around scott free. Drunk drivers now only face a slap on the wrist if they are involved in an accident that ends in a death (here in md) The list goes on and on. Brad and Angela great job with other countries but dont forget about the USA
Brad & Angelina do remember the US. They helped build new homes for families in New Orleans devastated by Katrina. They raised millions of dollars and built hundreds of new homes. I feel that they are what every person in the world should strive to be….compassionate, kind, and giving.
