British actor/comedian Ricky Gervais has been tapped to headline this year's New York Comedy Festival, which runs November 4-8 at Carnegie Hall. Gervais will perform his new one-man show, Out of England 2. "Headlining one of the most prestigious comedy festivals in the world is an amazing honour for me," Gervais said in a statement. "The fact that it's at the beautiful and historic Carnegie Hall makes it all the more wonderful. It's just down the road from my apartment. I can walk to work. (I won't walk obviously. I'll take a limo. But I could walk if I had to.)" Gervais will also be seen in theaters in this September's comedy The Invention of Lying.

He did play a couple of shows at the Kodak Theatre in LA last year… wish I could have gone.
