Chris Brown: California court declines to delay June 22 hearing

Tags:

The California Supreme Court has declined to delay a June 22 preliminary hearing for singer Chris Brown, 19, who's charged with two felonies in an alleged attack on singer Rihanna, 21, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Brown's attorneys had asked the state high court to postpone the hearing to assess if a Superior Court judge had justifiably rejected the defense's request for access to internal police files. Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, told the L.A. Times that the records may have something to do with the leak of a photo of a bloodied Rihanna to TMZ.com. Judge Patricia Schnegg said that Geragos and team were only entitled to access to those files for the trial, not for the preliminary hearing. Brown could face close to five years in prison if convicted.

Oh, we all know he’ll just get a slap on the hand anyways via the celebrity + money loophole clause.

eing a “celebrity” he’ll probably be sentenced to 12 hours in jail…. and serve 4.

I sincerely hope that he fades into has-been status as soon as his trial is over. Good riddance to woman-beater rubbish. Hey Brown, maybe they’ll make you a prison bride. Don’t drop the soap, buddy.

i like chris brown though what he did was despicable i believ he should be given a fair hearig in court and his matter should not be aggravated by the press

How nice. Mark Geragos has made a living off of defending scum and continues his streak here. I hope they throw the book at this guy.

To bad for you all that you have nothing to do but judge someone else. At the end of the day Chris will still be well off and you all will still be working class citizens angry because someone sucessful made some bad choices and he will still enjoy his life while you all are mostly miserable. To bad for you all God forgives all. Guess that what’s you all so much less then he who is our God that forgives.

Correction!! It is never ok to abuse anyone. We all know how to exercise the right to walk away verses attack someone but as an adult if you are getting your head beat in then you should also use common sense and hold yourself accountable for allowing someone to abuse you. At some point it goes from being a victim to being a volunteer. The first time a man hits you which may catch you off guard so you fogive. after 3 or more times then you have officailly become a volunteer so instead of holding one person to a higher standard hold both parties to a higher standard. I mean get real folks the world is made of many different angles and at the end of the day no one is respondsibile for you but you and what you allow to happen especially if it’s a continuous thing. Seperate being a fool from honestly just not knowing better……
