Little Kaitlyn performed the national anthem and God Bless America at the Washington Nationals game. She was awful. This has to stop. She may be good for a 4 year old but she is not good for the masses. Same with Boyle.
You are a doo doo. I am over 40. I do not want to see her. I have patty Lupone or idina Menzel for my show tunes. Your comment about getting fired was mean. Hope you are next.
Let whoever wants to preform show up and preform… As long as it’s not Heidi and Spencer
My only comment is that I wish people on these boards would speak for themselves – use ‘I’ instead of ‘we’. Certainly none of you speak for me and I have no desire to speak for you either. Good luck to Susan.
I read this somewhere else, but I think it’s true. We don’t know why all the you tube viewers were watching that clip so much. Some people could have been laughing. I know it’s sad to say that. There are parodies of the clip and jokes about Susan everywhere. We do know it was all planned. These shows are only put together to make money. But we can’t assume everyone was watching the you tube clips for the same reason. All publicity is good publicity, but it might not be for the singing that people are watching.
I’m the one who wrote I would be boycotting NBC’s sponsors if I have to watch more of this on an American network. Contrary to what someone has inferred, I am not under 30, do not have acne, and have plenty of cash. Those assumptions were amusing for me, but the comments about lay offs were unkind. As I have friends of all ages who have been laid off, I am sorry to see that those who are fans of Susan Boyle speak that unkindly about other Americans. I doubt Susan would want such fans speaking for her.
I would like to add one more comment. There are many different types of musical entertainment on this planet. Noone will like them all. My son recently attended a rock concert in Kansas City, MO. I wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes in that atmosphere, with that type of music, before I would have been going mad. My son loved it. He is 18. I am 59. I could sit and listen to Susan Boyle for hours. He would , no doubt, be wanting to do something different in 5 minutes. We both respect each others tastes in music even though our tastes vary drastically. I feel that noone should bash Susan or any other musician. Instead, praise them for their talents and thank them for sharing with us. In other words, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to listen to it. Listen to something you do like. But, keep your negativism to yourself. It’s demeaning and unnecessary.
I don’t think Susan had even a moment to be an artist or performer the way other musicians are. The backlash, I sense, is against the over inflated media attention that scrutinizes her clothes, her shopping, her moods, her health. We haven’t seen a single story on Susan’s views on musical interpretation or taste, what she thinks of anything artistic. There’s an enormous backlash in the U.S. against Simon Cowell, Syco, and the BGT conglomerate, and Susan gets included in that targeting. I believe if she distanced herself from them and started with new management, her image and her reception would change dramatically for the better. It isn’t Susan the musician we are all so tired of. It is Susan the British media cult figure, whose every missing button or new hairdo or mental health visit are forced upon us ad nauseum. I’m guessing that’s why many in the U.S.don’t want anything to do with her. She should distance herself from the BGT show and be a musician in her own right.
She will be at the Finale, count on it.

After reading these comments, I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea of what most of you are talking about. Laid off, fired, scripted, non-scripted, ages young or old, talent, no talent, voice, no voice whatever – who cares? Regardless of any of the above the point being if you don’t like Susan Boyle for ANY reason(s), then DO NOT (repeat) DO NOT bother to view or read anything about her! The most valuable thing we all have is life the next is time. Don’t waste your time on things you don’t care about. Simple!
I was browsing internet news on my break and saw this headline with horror. I thought, with a new season of the American talent show coming up, all the British stuff could just die down. I’m more than a little weary of hearing about Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell, and Susan Boyle. I can’t believe any sane person in the States wants a repeat of that British circus over here. Can we get something different and new, please? Not the mass hysteria we saw in England. And not British people on an American show. Incidentally, I wish we could get American judges, too.
I would love to see Susan come to America ! I have never watched AGT but I sure have followed Susan on BGT and if she comes to AGT then I will watch it for the first time ! I love to hear her sing and watch her smile and for those that say they are tired of all the hoopla about Susan and don’t want her on AGT, all I can say is don’t watch it then. Susan is unique because of her story and is a perfect example of how too many people prejudge on looks alone. Susan was not only a wake up call to BGT but to the world also. And hopefully to the music industry ! Too many good talents get ignored because they don’t look or act a certain way.
Susan, I look forward to seeing more of you here in America !
I’m with Elise Adams about the British judge thing. Honestly, most English people don’t get country music or some of our jokes or weird old-timey dancing. If you’re raised with something, you look at it differently than if you’re introduced to it as an adult. So why do we have 2 out of 3 judges from England? We know Sharon and Piers are classless fools who make a living feeding off other classless fools. It’s not like we love them. Why not replace them? They don’t get us and we don’t get why they’re ‘judging’ for us.
susan was good for a 43 year old i think…… she was my favorite …..i wonder why she quit …… its like she didn’t like her singing ….i thought it was awsome i loved her singing a lot….thank you a lot susan you made us think a lot
