i have never heard such garbage in my life. suing jk rowling because of wizard competitions and in a bathroom assisted by helpers is crazy. wizard trains! wow, nobody can come up with that! the willy book is over only thirty pages long with very limited distribution. it is possible that people can come up with the same ideas you know..

I guess people who stand for plagiarism don’t usually read much or don’t value their money neither their time. Well, I do.
As a reader I have rights too, after all I paid for the books I read. I’m supposed to forget the writer when I read a novel or whatever. But how can I (?) when I feel that sense of deja vu, or worse: -I already read this someplace else (most of the times better written).
    It’s a turn off!

I had someone recently plagiarize my Facebook. Took whole word and phrases. That was plagiarism! And the guy who did it was an attorney.
You cannot plagiarize concepts and general use terms.
If I wanted to write about witches who use cauldron and fly on broomsticks it is such a generally held belief that it would be hard for anyone who has ever written about those concepts prior to me to sue me for plagiarizing.
Can Lewis Carol (Alice in Wonderland) sue Jacobs for the use of magical chess pieces moving. Or can Jill Murphy whose Worst Witch not only predated both Harry Potter and Willy the Wizard but actually was famous enough to be read.
You cannot own common concepts. Then people would sue because there was a car used in a book.
I read the Willy the Wizard to compare the two and that will be the benefit of this lawsuit. But Britain is different loose a case and you will pay the lawyers fees for the other side.
