Oscar-winning Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, an outspoken advocate of LGBT rights and safe sex, has released a statement after sexually explicit photos that appear to depict him having unprotected sex hit the Internet yesterday. The photos are reportedly for sale, and a video is said to exist as well. In a statement released to E! Online's Marc Malkin, Black said: "It is unfortunate that individuals and other outside parties are trying to profit from material which is clearly private. I have had the privilege to speak to people across the country, both gay and straight, on a number of critical issues including safe sex. More important than the embarrassment of this incident is the misleading message these images send. I apologize and cannot emphasize enough the importance of responsible sexual practices."
Malkin says a source told him the other man in the three-year-old photos is someone Black was dating. Black's lawyers are said to be seeking legal action.
I love how people are trying to make an issue out of the fact he NOW trumpets safe sex, but made a sex vid showing him without a condom THREE YEARS AGO. The idiocy of people hellbent on being offended is astounding.
I happened upon those photos on Perez Hilton. I had no idea by clicking on the comments section that they would show them UNCENSORED. Perez is a pig. It’s sad that this guy had to be sold out by him and anyone else that is publishing them,but haven’t adults learned that if they don’t want something leaked, don’t take the damn picture? Needless to say, Perez Hilton’s site is now blocked on the computer. My older teenagers liked to read gossip about Twilight or Zac Efron- I had no idea Perez put porn on there.

Also, considering gossip mags/blogs thrive on the trashy antics of celebs – and knowing their antics know no boundaries – it’s a little naive to assume such reports will always be G-PG13 rated.
Um, disregarding the fact the photos are THREE YEARS OLD, there in no way is anything bad about more people speaking out in favor of safe sex (even if they might not always comply themselves) Any voice is a good voice.
Like far too many others this guy thinks rules are for “other people”. That has become our national motto: “Do as I say, not as I do”. Next thing you know he’ll be advocating abstinence and getting pregnant.

Dustin Lance Black has no reason to apologize for not using safe sex. He was in a relationship with the other man at the time. Very few people (straight or gay) use protection with someone who they have been with for a while and trust (unless they are avoiding pregnancy). These are private, personal photos that were never meant to be public. I think most of us could easily be in the same situation if we became famous.

Who made you the sex police and who said that this person wasn’t his bf. Just because he’s a proponent of safe sex and the pics that were released show him having bareback sex, that doesn’t make him a hypocrite. There is nothing wrong with bareback sex if you and your partner are in a monogamous relationship and have both been tested. As for Perez Hilton, he’s completely trashy and a prime example of many of the reasons that the LGBT community is so misunderstood and disliked. Many people out there have taken pictures like this and there is nothing wrong with that. The fact that people “leak” them out onto the internet without the subject’s permission is disgusting. My respect for Mr. Black is not effected at all by these pictures, they just show me that he’s a normal sexual being. My respect for Mr. Hilton, however, is non-existant.
Right, because Perez NEVER put up pictures of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, or Vanessa Hudgens nude. To even allow your kids to go to a site like that for “gossip” on Zac Efron or the Jonas Bros says alot about your judgement. Since what the next entry after a “wholesome” comment on Zac Efron is a picture of some celeb where Perez has drawn “white markings”/semen on the celeb. I’m sorry but everyone who goes to his site knows what to expect, and every time you go there is another tally of visitors and more advertising money.
To gee- First of all, I said my older teen ( 18). Secondly- semi censored nudes or doodling on pictures is one thing, uncensored intercourse is quite another. We have no idea how serious they were or how long they were involved. Until we do, no one has the right to judge their unprotected sex. They could have been a serious couple who got tested and were monogamous for all we know. That is more responsible than screwing around with a comdom.
