Multiple biopics are in the works to chronicle the life of car designer, John DeLorean – including one from director Brett Ratner, who hopes to direct the pic from a script from James Toback with Robert Evans aboard as producer, according to Variety. (A competing project is being developed by Time Inc. Studios, which shares a parent company with EW.) DeLorean was an imaginative car designer — he created the eponymous auto that was later used as the time travel device in the Back to the Future movies — who lost everything after being accused of selling drugs to save his car company.
