A day after announcing American Idol season 8 champ Kris Allen’s deal, 19 Recordings revealed it has also signed runner-up Adam Lambert, and that, as widely rumored on the Internet, his debut album will be licensed to RCA Records for a fall release.
Currently, Lambert’s cover of “Mad World” sits at No. 44 on Billboard’s Hot 100, one of his four singles (along with “No Boundaries,” “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “One”) residing on that chart.
“I’m thrilled that we’ve come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album,” Lambert said in a release. “We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!”

I’m ready honey.
Wow, This article is buried and the one about him possibly ( lol) being gay is on the front page.
Woo hoo! He’ll be singing, I’ll be listening.
Congrats Adam! I love u so much, I wish u all the luck in the world and you’re gonna be great – a STAR! Just remember all your worldwide fans, we wanna be able to buy your album the SAME DAY it somes out in America. No delays please. Can’t wait to hear it!!
Is it Fall yet?
I am so happy for Adam. He is a stunning superstar!
Yay! Can’t wait for Adam to give me what I didn’t know I wanted! Now, hopefully they’ll release that Allison was signed tomorrow and the trinity will be complete. Kradison forever!
Yea! So happy for Adam! I can’t wait for the album – and it sounds like it is going to be fun and exciting (just like him)! I love the fact that he’s mixing up genres. The guy can sing anything, and I can’t wait to hear him do it! Also interesting to note that Simon Fuller suggested a more global spin on Adam’s album.
And yeah, I second the comment that – how is this story hidden, but the one about him “coming out” is right on the front page? Well, I guess everyone knew Adam was getting a record deal, but no one knew about his possible sexual orientation (rolls eyes).
Hurray! I can’t wait to buy this album. I mix my weekly Adam fix already.
Oh, and both mentions are on the EW front page.
Congrats Adam! I can’t wait for the album and the solo tour! I’m so excited I feel like a pool of Abdul.

He’s gonna be HUGE!!! Can’t wait for his CD and the freedom for him outside of the Idol box. He’s going to be HUGER than HUGE!
Good for him! It’ll be a good record. Where’s Allison’s record deal now?
Good deal for Adam. I’m glad that it seems people have moved on from being bitter about Kris winning the show. It’s what happens next that really counts!
