Angela Lansbury is still working!? Impressive.

  • kim in kentucky

I’m sure they deserved to win, but like they wouldn’t give Angela Lansbury and Liza the Tonys?

  • Ben

I’m just grateful that Will Ferrel did not win. What an annoying, obnoxious jerk.

  • bunker

That number from Billy Elliot was borderline unwatchable. I have no interest in seeing that show now. Very disappointing.

When NPH was in Cabaret on Broadway my gal pal and I met him after at the stage door. We were so enamored and brave enough to ask him if he’d kiss us.
    AND HE DID!
I was convinced we must be super foxy and hoped one day NPH and I would get married. A few years later I realized… OH
Regardless, I kissed the 2009 Tony Award host!!!

p.s. is it wrong that I still Angela Lansbury attractive?

NPH made things somewhat watchable. But most of these awards were totally predictable.

Not a lot of surprises in the victors, although the Billy Elliot thing got old quickly. I’m glad Hair won. It’s great that it still has that verve, I think it surprised with its energy. I’m anxious to see what shows will get boosts and which will fade.

I’M SO HAPPY ALICE RIPLEY WON! SHE’S SO AMAZING IN ‘NEXT TO NORMAL.’

Ben’s comment about Will Ferrell being “an annoying, obnoxious jerk” shows that he has NO CLUE about who Will really is. Ben, FYI, Will is the polar opposite of the characters he portrays in his films. In real life, he is not annoying, obnoxious, and by NO STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION is he a jerk. His dad happens to be one of my closest pals, and while I don’t know Will very well, what I do know is that he (and his younger brother) were raised by loving parents, and that he is very intelligent, polite, respectful, well read and very humble. Add to that—loving husband, cherished father, adored son and brother, and you have the real Will Ferrell. You, on the other hand, seem to know him so well, and yet you can’t even spell his last name correctly. Go rent “Elf” and see if his character doesn’t make you laugh out loud. If the movie is too deep for you, watch it with a friend—maybe they can explain the parts you don’t understand.

How would you rate the Tony Awards hosting job by Neil Patrick Harris? Take the poll here:

  • Celia

Yay! I’m so happy Equus won atleast ONE award. It was such a great play.

  • seh

I disagree about “Hair.” While I love the music and the show, it is no longer relevant. I thought that “West Side Story” had a much better number and is a timeless story.

  • Michelle

And the winner for the closest call is Brett Michaels http://scarlett-tv.com/?p=131. Close escape!

  • chuck

Neil Patrick Harris star went up bigtime last night. He commanded respect as the host. GREAT job!
