Universal Pictures, which will release the comedy Bruno on July 10, responded to a lawsuit by a California woman against the film's star, Sacha Baron Cohen, calling the suit "completely baseless." Richelle Olson is seeking unspecified damages, claiming she was seriously injured in an altercation with Baron Cohen during the filming of a charity bingo tournament in 2007. "Filmed footage of the full encounter, which took place more than two years ago, clearly shows that Ms. Olson was never touched or in any way assaulted by Sacha Baron Cohen or any member of the production and suffered no injury," the studio responded in a statement. "If the Olsons elect to proceed with their frivolous action, we expect each of the defendants to be fully vindicated."

Why does ANYone find that man funny? SBC was great in Sweeney Todd where he acted and sang, but as Bruno or Borat I have no use for him at all.
I don’t buy her BS, honestly. She waited TWO YEARS to file a suit when she was so terribly injured? Sounds like she just expected they would settle. I don’t believe her.
Well as they said, the video will be proof. She started the altercation by physically trying to take the mic away from him. Then there was a struggle.
Like I said, the video will tell the tale.

I think this is a frivolous suit. Why wait 2 years when you supposedly suffered a serious injury and then sue right before the movie is released. I think the allegedly injured woman brought this lawsuit in the hope Cohen and Universal would settle rather than suffer bad publicity.
Sounds like another case of two wrongs going before a judge and hoping to be declared the most right. Never expect a good result when you starting point is based on evildoings, lies, and misleading people.
