Wow MTV, how far you have fallen. Sad.

  • dt

This just confirms what I already knew, that teens like crap, which makes MTV a purveyor of crap for pandering to their tastelessness.

  • M

LOL at the stupid comments below and the ones I know that are to come about the results. The MTV Movie Awards is not about quality but popularity. If you expect something else then why are you watching? The Oscars were in February.

  • Please

TO M: Please. “The Dark Knight” made over $500 million at the box office. “Twilight” made, like $180 million. And yet “Twilight” still won everything. This was clearly not a popularity contest, but was instead an example of tweens hijacking the vote. Totally ridiculous, and not at all representative of what the ENTIRE public likes.

MTV is basically a channel for teens these days, so what’s the big deal? This stuff was voted on by the fans, get over it, Twilight won.

  • lalalaa

    why isn’t heath ledger there?

  • yeahhhhhh

it’s really sad how the entire teen population can forget about a horrible tragedy leading to the death of the most promising dead actor simply by a good looking guy and an awkward girl pretending to be in love

  • M

You said it, it’s about who is willing to vote. Are the fans of The Dark Knight obssessive teenage girls who will waste their time voting? Plus the entire cast of Twilight was there and the show was a stage to show the new trailer. Those same teenage girls were watching for these reasons alone. The entire public didn’t vote, Twilight fans did and that’s what’s been shown.

Every award earned at the MTV movies awards wasn’t deserved. The only award that Twilight should get is for worst movie. The teen population has failed to show any integrity… again.

  • Lynn

Why is EW dignifying these results by acting like they mean anything? The real stories of the awards were Bruno tea-bagging Eminem and MTV’s disgraceful treatment of Heath Ledger winning Best Villain.
Yes, the terrible Twitard film won. And the MTV Movie Awards are the highest thing it can ever aspire to, so get over it.

  • Shamrock

I am sure Twilight had it’s share of not only teens but lovelorn adult females to help out.

  • Remy

I’m a moderate twilight fan but how could Kristen Stewart win best actress? She is okay, but in Twilight she SUCKED. Especially the scene where they were driving back from the restaurant and she’s like “Woah. What happened?”
NO EMOTION. Disgusting. Even the cast of HSM is better. And I’m no HSM fan.

  • KR

I love the Twilight books, but that movie seriously sucked. It should not have won in any of its categories except maybe breakthrough male. I can’t believe that MTV has been taken over by tween girls to this extent.

  • Susa

Actually, to be clear, if you go to any Twilight fansite, you’ll realize that MANY adults voted for these awards. Was Twilight a good film?
No. However, we all wanted to see the actors onstage, which is why we voted.
    AGAIN, this isn’t the Oscars.
I hope that NM will actually be a great film.

  • Shamrock

I know this wasn’t the Oscars but hell, when I was a teenager films like A Few Good Men, Menace II Society, Pulp Fiction and Seven won. So now it’s come down to Twilight…just sad.
