Kara DioGuardi says Adam Lambert is 'out'

ABC News reports that this morning on The View during a pre-taped interview, American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi will discuss, among other things, Adam Lambert’s sexuality. According to Kara, Adam is gay. "I think he was always openly out," she says.

John Rich charged for alleged 'Nashville Star' assault

Country star John Rich of Big & Rich was charged on May 28 with assault and harassment, E! Online reports. Rich allegedly smacked former Nashville Star contestant Jared Ashley in the face; he has denied the charges. "I trust that the truth will come out through the process of ourAmerican justice system and that I will be completely exonerated at theend of the day," the singer said in a statement.

Paul Verhoeven directing 'The Surrogate'

Paul Verhoeven has signed on to direct The Surrogate for 20th Century Fox, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film, a thriller about surrogate pregnancy, would be the Dutch director’s first English-language feature since 2000′s Hollow Man.

Tom Sizemore arrested on drug warrant

Tom Sizemore was arrested May 28 in L.A. on a drug-related warrant, Reuters reports. Police found the Saving Private Ryan actor while responding to a report of gunshots, only to discover that he had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in Bakersfield, Calif. Further details on the warrant were not immediately released. Sizemore was booked on $25,000 bail.

'Tintin' release date set: Dec. 23, 2011

Steven Spielberg’s much-anticipated The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will be released in the U.S. on Dec. 23, 2011, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 3-D motion-capture feature stars Jamie Bell as intrepid young reporter Tintin, and the rest of the cast is filled out by Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones, and Mackenzie Crook.

'Crash Course' added to ABC's summer slate

ABC’s summer slate just got a little bit bigger: The network has picked up seven one-hour episodes of auto competition series Crash Course, which will debut late in the summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Episodes will feature couples taking on extreme driving challenges, until one couple ends up in the final round, which requires them to go through a large obstacle track fittingly dubbed the "Crash Course."

'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' remake in the works

Girls Just Want to Have Fun, the 1985 teen comedy that starred Mad About You‘s Helen Hunt and Sex and the City‘s Sarah Jessica Parker, looks like it’s getting the remake treatment, according to a report in Variety. Twentieth Century Fox and Lakeshore Entertainment have writer Michelle Morgan working on a new version of the movie, which focused on two girls who were obsessed with dancing and a hit dancing show.

'Family Guy' to compete in Emmy's best comedy category

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane plans to enter his animated comedy in the Emmy’s best comedy category, putting it up against a group that is traditionally all live-action, according to a report in Variety. Although animated comedies like The Simpsons have tried the same thing before, MacFarlane believes this could be the year for animation to break through the glass ceiling. "Wedon’t produce our show the that way SpongeBob does," MacFarlane told Variety."We’re much more analogous to traditional sitcoms. Our writers don’tcome from animation; they come from comedies. I hear people all thetime tell me that they love The Office, 30 Rock, and our show. Thenwhy are we not all competing in the same world?"

'Twilight Saga: New Moon' trailer to debut on Sunday's MTV Movie Awards

The "never-before-seen" footage that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will introduce at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards is, in fact, the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, MTV has confirmed. The live ceremony, hosted by Saturday Night Live‘s Andy Samberg, will also feature a tribute to Generation Award recipient Ben Stiller, performances by Eminem and Kings of Leon, and other presenters including American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, Sacha Baron Cohen’s Brüno, and Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

Susan Boyle wanted to quit 'Britain's Got Talent,' judge says

Reality show judge and former tabloid journalist Piers Morgan says that singing sensation Susan Boyle has been struggling to cope with the pressures of fame and was ready to walk off Britain’s Got Talent, according to Reuters. Morgan told Inside Edition that Boyle has "been in tears repeatedly…. And, as of yesterday, she waspacking her bags." However, she finally agreed to see the show through to the end.
