Stern, Anna Nicole Smith’s lawyer/boyfriend and two of her doctors have pleaded not guilty to charges that they conspired to provide thousands of prescription medication to the model/reality TV star before her death by drug overdose two years ago, the Associated Press reports. Outside the courtroom in Los Angeles, Stern’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, told reporters, "[Stern] did not commit a crime, period!" Smith was pronounced dead, at age 39, after being found unconscious in her Florida hotel room in 2007. All three defendants are charged with six counts each, including conspiracy, and, if convicted, could each face up to five years and eight months in prison.
