Seriously, Scott cannot sing, his off key performances were uncomfortable to watch and his “banter” with Judges was almost as unwatchable. I didn’t mind Matt but couldn’t really see him singing a duet with Scott or Billy Joel for that matter. Scott needs a reality check like nothing I’ve ever seen before, he wasn’t that good, the judges were kind and thats the end of it, if he comes back next season for anything, I will stop watching!
I’m sorry but in this case I think he was a good thing. They could have cut a couple of more acts too.
The whole finale felt like a letdown to me because of the Matt snub. There were so many throw away moments… such a wasted opportunity.
I agree that the Bikini Girl/Tatianna Del Toro stuff was stupid and completely unnecessary “comic relief” and that seeing a performance by some of the finalists would’ve been better.
However, I feel like, once again, Scott McIntyre is coming off like he’s WAY too full of himself (as he did in his Idolatry exit interview). He’s talking about his proposed duet with Matt like we all missed out on the most amazing show of the year. It’s a shame Scott didn’t get his moment in the finals, but if we’re REALLY keeping it real, this is how it is: there’s NO WAY he would’ve gotten as far as he did (or even to the semifinals) if he weren’t blind. He just wasn’t a good enough singer to justify a spot in the top 13/12.
All that being said, seeing as how he WAS in the top 13, he should’ve certainly had his moment (though it doesn’t break my heart that he didn’t.)
Give me a break. Scott had no busines making it to Hollywood week let alone as far as he did. I think the fact that he did becAuse he is blind is an insult to blind people – you think Stevie Wonder ever received such favours. Be thankful for the gift AI afforded you and save us all the self-aggrandizing BS
I was totally looking forward to Scott and Matt’s duet! Hearing them would have been much better than listening to bikini girl’s wailing.
Scott and matt deserve way better treatment! BTW, Scott was the best all around artist on AI this season!! Those of you who don’t like him are just prejudice.
Oh, one more thing, Scott is not full of himself! Scott has the most gentle and loving heart in this entire world! All of you out there who hate him are just prejudice, plain and simple!!
I can’t believe they didn’t let Scott perform! He was my absolute favorite! 15 friends had gathered for a viewing party mostly just to see our man Scott! He has a beautiful voice and I would buy his recordings first. Those that don’t “get it” or think Scott is full of himself, think for a minute what it would have been like if ANY of the other top 12 had not gotten a special solo or duet with a celebrity! Scott was the ONLY one left out!!! He has a right to be a little upset! Not only that, he was also the ONLY one without a small line in one of the group songs. I think the producers decided not to accomodate the “disabled” one in the finale because it was probably too much trouble or something…

It was horrible. I have heard the audio file for this song and it was AMAZING!!!! Absolutely brilliant, and like Scott said, it would have been one of the most rememorable songs of the show, probably following only “We Are the Champions” and the Kiss and Keith Urban songs. It definitely would have outshown the Steve Martin, Fergie, Black Eyed Peas and Lionel Ritchie bits. It is the best song, I have been playing it all day. I love these two piano men, and I hope they receive just compensation.
