Clay Aiken apologizes for Adam Lambert slam

Categories: Television

Clay Aiken says he’s sorry for his "colorful" criticism of Adam Lambert’s American Idol performance of "Ring of Fire." The 2003 Idol runner-up had blasted this season’s frontrunner-turned-runner-up in a blog post last week that said Lambert’s take on the Johnny Cash tune made him think his "ears would bleed." But on Friday he posted that he "obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard" and didn’t mean to "’slam’ … Adam as a person."

I love the way Clay keeps putting himself in the spotlight. It was unprofessional of Clay to criticize a fellow singer and AI contestant in the first place, and particularly since he’d only seen part of one performance and none of Kris’. It seems he was just wanting his name in ink.

This catty washed up queen is now apologizing for being an evil hater to Adam? You can’t take back what you said. Also it seems to me he is jealous because Adam embraces who he is and doesn’t hate himself the way Clay did when he was on Idol. Go back to being irrelevant Clay. No one wants to hear from you.

Your time is up Clay! Good Bye!

Mr. Aiken does not have an 1/8th of the talent of Adam Lambert. This 54 year old Rocker thinks Clay Aiken is a very Jealous individual with a failing career looking for one moment of attention.

Who does Clay think he is; judging another person? That ain’t right….I am no longer a Clay fan….

Can’t we be honest antmore these days, without having to be so damn PC? If the performance sucked, say so. Let the chips fall where they may. Not everybody can be a winner and feelings will get hurt. People need to live with it.

Clay, you also implied he wasn’t a “real” contestant. Do you take that back as well?

I don’t think you need to apologize clay, A lot of other people felt the same way you did. It’s all a matter of taste and Kris was more appealing with his music.

The old adage that “it takes one to know one” seems to apply to more than just sexuality; obviously it applies to singing as well, because Clay is one who also knows how to ruin a song.

unfortunately clay aiken was right about “making ears bleed”. adam ruined a cash classic.

So-called “stars” that open their mouth and insert their foot are getting more than boorish and boring!
    Don’t these people know better?!
BUT I suspect his star quality is fast falling and he needed SOME way to get his name back in front of the public instead!! How much more lame can you get?

Clay Aiken was just jealous :) . Now he’s sorry.

Wow, I thought adam’s Ring of Fire was great and very sensual. I think Clay might just be a little bit jealous of our new star.
