Fringe cast member Kirk Acevedo, who plays Agent Charlie Francis on the Fox series, posted a status message on Facebook yesterday claiming he was let go from the show, but exec producer Jeff Pinkner has since confirmed to TV Guide that Acevedo "was not fired," and adds, “Like all things on Fringe, there is more to this story than meets the eye." Pinkner also offered this season two tease: "We have already seen two of him on the show…We havealready met the second Charlie. He had a scar on his face.”

Huh ??????????
so will he be back for season 2? i hope so because his character was a good foil to agent dunham. we need a agent francis on this show to bridge the gap between dunham & the rest of the agents that just do as they’re told without any explainations.
Um, I don’t get his statement.
This is interesting… But why would the actor say it if he wasn’t fired. Of course it could be a fake FB account.

The title of this article SHOULD read
Studio denies ‘Fringe’ star Kirk Acevedo WAS fired, despite Facebook post
it’s confusingly worded as is!!
If you deny he was not fired then he was fired. Right?
Well, I hope he’s back next season, because I enjoy both Mr Acevedo and Charlie very much.
That being said, you might want to check the link to this story: Studio denies KA was not fired. Double negative is a bit of a brain teaser on this beautiful Friday morn.
Oh I am happy to hear he’ll be around for season 2, I truly enjoyed his character in season one.
…he didn’t like the idea of moving to Vancouver for season 2?
His options weren’t renewed.
So is Charlie with the scar on his face, the person on the show now? Is this Fringe just mixing reality with TV again ala the Observer?
I noticed that scar, but thought it was just the lighting and something that I had missed all season long!
Maybe Charlie in this universe was fired from ‘Fringe’, but perhaps “Charlie” in the alternate universe is still on contract?
WTF? Well, if he wasn’t fired before, I think both Charlies will be dead by the end of the year. Sad – I love Charlie!
Yippee! I didn’t want him to go away, he was just beginning to get interesting.
