Fox didn’t censor the Black Eyed Peas during American Idol, according to the Associated Press. The moment of silence during a performance of "Boom Boom Pow" was singer will.i.am’s idea, apparently to keep an expletive in the lyrics from airing on Wednesday.

Yea, well during Fergie’s lyric where an expletive is sung, we all of a sudden received the AI logo floating on the screen and then Boom Boom Pow, we had BEP back.. hmmm.
But that was silly. There is a censored version of Boom, Boom, Boom already on the radio. They should have gone with that instead. Plus, the original version of “Let’s Get it Started” is actually called “Let’s Get Retarded”. It was featured in “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”.
Great Article, really explored the “issue” indepth
That’s hilarious that the black eyes peas are trying to keep their artistic integrity, after they changed the lyrics to one of their songs, FOREVER, for an nba commercial. Lets get it started… wow what sellouts
Um, that’s total B.S. — watch the performance while reading the lyrics. will.i.am does the “pause” where profanities are supposed to be in his parts, but the censored part came during Fergie’s part, where (I’m assuming) she actually sang s*it.
