Colin Firth and Kevin Spacey are attached to star in a film adaptation of George Orwell’s Catalonia directed by Hugh Hudson, Variety reports. Bob Ellis will write the screenplay, based on Orwell’s book about his own trip with his wife, Eileen, to Barcelona to fight Stalinism. Orwell joined the Anarchist Brigade and fought in the Spanish Civil War under charismatic commander Georges Kopp.

Oooohhhh, who’s going to play Eileen?! She wasn’t particularly pretty (at least in the pictures I’ve seen), but she had a cute button nose and freckles…maybe Evangeline Lilly (from LOST) could do it.
